I'm running a 400w MH for vegging and have an HPS for flowering. Are you saying HPS is better than Halides or just better than cfls?

theres no need to start a debate that has more than likely taken place a hundred times just on this forum but it is sceintifically proven that during vegitive growth plants prefer and utilise light in the blue spectrum obviously if you got the intensity of 400w discharge lamp your gonna get some but its very ineffiecant nothin you cant do with less than 300w fluro i know HPS is a different light INTENSITY as you said BUT why waste your hps vegin when it can just flower and you can start a nice cycle with less power consumption in the veg and more bud production with your HID happy smokin anyway geezer keep it green!

Yes blue, skunk, is favored for vegging, ill give you that. But with your theory, I could get bigger denser bushes with 4 26 watt blue cfls than a 400 w hps........ does that sound right?
I think growth has less to do with the spectrum and more to due with the usable amount of food from light. The higher the lumens the more a plant will florish in the available light food.

you aint teachin me nothin m8 been growin years man and have vceged under HPS and what im sayin is there aint no difference than with a lot less wattage of something with a more blue spectrum hes on about a 150 too so with 150w aint gonna do as much as say 3 or 4 cfls so why waste electricity and fuel this terrorism shit man lol fuck throughin cash a way more for your new gadgets and shit like what cheefin put up anyone ever use 1 of those they do look cool any way man i couldnt be arsed gettin into this shit i always veg with fluros but thats just me yeah break out ur HPS if you want and keep contributing to makin this hole in my ozone bigger (produces better green anyway!) Dont know what to say, sounds like your stuck in your ways... I COULD be wrong but from what i have witnessed Hps is superior, and can grow plants identicle to mh. But w/e duuude, keep on rocking out the cfls. So many people on here would strongly disagree with that though. but what ever. Yup im fucking up this world with my 150w hps. You should start ripping out security lights around town and fight your cause!!!! Kidda? HA!

Cause you need more watts of cfl to match the power of hps. Its called efficiency, and if you try to match it with cfls, your going to be using more watts.waste of energy?
