i've grown 5x more bud in a cup half that size.

i don't like YOU. shut the fuck up and let people who know what the fuck they're doing chime in for grades and info and upgrades.

root zone is not as important as frequency of water. i've grown 4' plants in 8oz cups. i've done about 2000 seeds started on 12/12 grown in perlite in dixie cups from start to chop. that plant is leggy, with very little bud, whereas my plants were short with buds from cup to cola, solid mass.

noobs need to shut the fuck up and let more experienced persons chime in to grade and offer tips and tricks. minus rep to you asshole!

I don't usually get involved in these little quarrels, especially when it gets to name calling and such, but I have to agree. They look pretty crappy. Why would you want BIG ol' tall stretched out plants in a tiny cup? I've always seen them done much better. keep them shorter, stronger lights, and better care.

But to be fair an all perlite cup is more like a tiny hempy bucket and that SHOULD work much better than soil.

that's not true. perlite in cups with a drain pan is no different than soil in a drain pan. both will wick water, and soil creates a stronger root mass. my yields were the same for dirt and perlite. the hempy buckets i've run before were laughable at best, looked just like dirt.

but my point is, there's lots of plant on that one, but not lots of flowering sites. it looks extremely stretched.

Wow...I don't know how you've pulled that off. I've grown in soil and in hempys and the hempy's have WAY outproduced the soil. It might be the use of hydroponic nutrients instead of organics, but the hempy bucket with it's 2" of water at the bottom always seem to work best for me.

Then again, I've never tried it on a tiny ass scale either, I've always grown in 5 gallon hempy buckets to keep mothers.

I digress though, hempy, soil, doesn't matter. Those plants don't look very good and it looks like weak ass lights to me too.

No production, tons of wasted energy and just grown all wrong for a small container.

that i agree with, light is either too far or not enough. as for my perlite ventures, my dirt is 50% perlite. 100% perlite shows no improvement and is much more prone to fungus gnat infestation. my best results are in aero with no medium and unrestricted root growth, seconded by dwc, same deal.

I have definitely seen faster growth with straight perlite than with soil and been able to grow larger plants in smaller containers. As for DWC, I have enjoyed it. I liked it, but it's too much of a pain in the ass for larger grows. I'll be and ebb & flow guy for a long time. It just work, works well, and is easily scaleable.

same here, but i went aero. it's nice to know that a single 25g res takes care of a whole room :twisted:

I think this is really a possible solution for me with my space limitation as well. I'm going to have to measure and try see how many might fit ... that could be sort neat grow with like you say lolipopping them too ....

what's up man dude i need to know how long will it take my buds to swell up there growing but they should be bigger . because they are in 5 gallon buckets don't get my wrong they are budding nice but i seen some yours and they were only two weeks flowering and the buds was looking way gooder then mine.
