Well here is my pics finally. Hope to see some others post. I dont remember if its my northern lights x skunk1 or blue cheese. I will know after a few more weeks. They look much different flowering. I am two weeks into flowering with nearly no veg time. Good thing I didnt because you can see the roots are getting pretty tight already. Did it in a clear cup so we could watch....ha. I have been harvesting after 8 weeks with these two strains but I think I need to go ten so I am going to try it with this little guy. I have 400hps and 400mh in a 5x4 room. Its not nearly enough as I thought it would be. Hope to upgrade soon to a 1000hps and the 400hps. Happy viewing

It's cool seeing the root structure but light is really bad for roots. I would recommend throwing some electrical or duct tape around the bottom of those cups to keep any light from penetrating.

The roots look healthy so maybe I am wrong or maybe there is not much light making it down that far. Either way, blocking the light from hitting those roots can't hurt anything.

The root thing I am not sure about. Of course everyone on here says its bad for them but I start every clone in them and have never had a problem. The roots are nice and white so I dont know if I believe that. And it is from clone.

Thats all my next grow is going to consist of is 16 0z solo cups :D. Fit about 20+ in a rubbermaid bin, veg for 3 weeks and then flower. Yield should atleast be a Qp. Since it will be bag seed, ill hope more than half are females...

I'll do it. I lost my grow thanks to spider mites (neglect) and am about to start up again.

If anyone wants tips on how to really pull this off hard core but doesn't know where to begin start reading drbudgreengenes
method on icmag if you haven't already. I don't have a link ATM, here's a pic of what can be done, that mountain dew container
is truly 16oz and he grew this plant with 5 42w cfl's in a small grow box:

It would really help if we were all using the same plants though (make that PLANT. we should all grow off the same clones actually not seed)
and that's just not possible, so not only are our skills being tested but also how well the various plants take to this size container.

I'm running an oddball heavy sativa mix clone only genotype that is an Oregon exclusive. The latest greatest thing since sliced bread supposedly...
Wish I could remember the name. :)

We will see... I don't expect it to actually be the biggest bud, but I should have some buds that just flat out sparkle. 12 weeks plus clone time from now that is.

Your bud looks good. You should try using a 250HPS vs. the 210 watts of CFL's. You would be getting a much higher yield and only spending about $2 more per month on electricity.

HPS lights have a better lumen to watt ratio than CFL's do. You would be using about the same amount of electricity but you'd be getting a lot more light.

Keep up the good work OregonMeds

I agree with what you said Nomaninsf, but no that's not me or my plant, that guy is just a good refence and his threads
are a wealth of information on how to care for plants in that size container because he's a very experienced expert grower
and also he grows like that all the time, that's his normal grow style not just something he tried once for a contest.

I won't flower with cfl's myself any more, I tried them and found I'm too impatient and demanding to put up with slower
growth rates than HID's.

But don't let his use of cfl's make you not want to look to his threads for tips, he started using cfl's because he lived off the grid
self sufficiently and ran off a very small generator that couldn't handle HID's. Now he just does it cause people always give him
crap about cfl's, but he got kind of fond of using them and just like to prove what they can do.
