Sold my last growbox so I decided to do something cheap just for fun. Grow some bagseed for under $100. Ill update every week or so till the end.

Im starting this 22 days into the grow and ill I have to say is growing with fluros is slow.

April 1st germinated 6 bagseeds, 5 "commerical" seeds and 1 "high grade" seed in cups. I picked the best 2 and tossed the other 2. On the 7th I transplanted them into 1/2 gallon pots. On the 20th I transplanted again into 1 gallon pots.

Bagseed: free (kinda)

soil: $7
ferts: $11

pots: $1.76
trays: $.88
safty blanket: $1.99
thermometer: $.99
rocks: $free
chili cheese fritos: $.99

2 4ft fluorescent fixtures: $18
2 warm bulbs: $7
2 cold bulbs: $5
timer: $8
fan: $12
extension cord: $2.99
water container: $free
chlor out: $2.49

pic of the lights on to see the warm cold setup.

Basically I just lined soma cardboard ($free) with the safty blanket because I didnt want to tape it to the wall and lean the lights up against the pots vertically. Keep it stupid simple. It looks like this.

And heres where im sitting right now at 22 days since beginning of germ. The bigger one is the "commerical" seed and the small is a "high grade" seed.

Well i switched everything up a bit, went over budget but my plants were looking like shit and i dont like the idea of smoking wierd chemicals from the crappy nutes i had. Im still well under $150.

I transplanted to cheap organic topsoil in 5 gal buckets.

I only water with RO water.

The nutes i use are bone meal, blood meal and fresh wood ashes.

plants are looking much better.

Yeah the slow part bugs me but i like how they stay so compact and bushy. Tons of nodes for only a foot tall and the main stems are about as big around as a marker. Im interested to see what happens when i flower too, im really tempted to use my 400w HPS but i might as well finish them off on fluros. Judging by the slow groth i dont see alot of smoke comming out of this but hey im only using 2 $8 light fixtures.
