Some people say that the plants need a "rest" period for various reasons and claim that 24/0 can cause stress to the plants. But according to what I've read, marijuana is a C3 type plant and requires no rest period. I believe I read an article by Ed Rosenthal that said 24/0 can increase growth rates by as much as 33%. I've always used 24/0 in veg and never had a problem.

I say go 24/0 unless you're trying to conserve electricity. Unless you have a huge operation, you really don't save that much juice by turning out the lights 6 hours a day anyway.

only reason i run 18/6 in the summer is because it gets way too hot if i dont turn it off for the 6 hottest hours of the day, i prefer to run 24/0. im impressed so many people knew about it being c3 and what that means, for the longest time it seemed like no one knew what i was talking about at all when they tried to compare plants to people and needing a rest. nice job guys. their might be hope for this site after all. lol

Agree - been using 24/7 for 15 years and plants just grow crazy under my 4 fluorscent. As long as i use rain water and keep ph steady everything is perfect.

im not to sure about that i think you can but everyone i personly know who grew them used 18/6
Alright Slayer, how goes it mate? I vegged mine for a couple of weeks on 24 hour light. Seemed to work well.

With autos it depends on the strain. A lot of autos perform better the more light they recieve, so a 24 hr cycle is fine. Although I dont rate auto strains, and the time saved is minimal in comparison to a regular plant.
