I picked up a clone at a local dispensary last week, and it seems to be doing well.

Here's the setup:
2x2 sq. ft. box lined with mylar
CFL's: (2) 23w 6500k, (1) 23w 2700k = 300 watt equivalent
Miracle Gro Organic Choice potting soil
Watering with fish tank water from my brothers live plant tank

I was told the clone was Blackberry (there was a label on the planter that said so). However, a label around the stem says ("GRAPE APE") I was told it can not be determined what strain it is until it matures.

I've included pics from Day 1 to today. I plan to pick up a 150w HPS light from a local hydro store soon. Let me know what y'all think.

I'd lean towards the label on the stem as it seems a bit more deliberate, they may have just messed up the planters (fuckin' potheads). Then again you never know... Damn shame, but maybe you'll be able to tell (I wouldn't count on it, but maybe).

Looks good though. She'll love the hps, but those CFLs should take you another week or so.

Good luck.

HA! I was thinking that too

thanks! they now have Blue Dream clones in. I was told they do well outdoors. I may give it a go as the weather is improving.

Does your brother know your taking his water? LOL I'm with billybob she will love the hps!
OR you will like what you see if you put her out doors, she will take off! Once she acclimates herself.

He reserves some of the water for me when he does a water change. The water has ideal PH and and Co2 pumping for max growth along with some nice T5 HO bulbs (my plant would probably love them) :)

Too bad on the labels. The clone looks healthy. maybe when it goes into flower you can guess better
with a stare and compare with a known plant in flower.

For labels. My wife bought 3 rose bushes in the spring, each a different color, one each red, yellow and blue.
Each rootball had a healthy looking picture on it showing the color of the roses.

Well now the bushes are growing and ALL 3 are a carnation red and white color. They are roses but they
are not what my wife bought, sure they are what she paid for but they are not he colors she bargained for.:?

I was just kidding with you,
Yes it is a good water source, if you can get it. You got it! Great

 got a sweet deal on a Sun 150w HPS with bulb at the local hydro store, along with a bag of Foxfarm Ocean forest. I don't really want to replant it again. I'll probably just use for future plants.

I'm debating on whether to bust out the HPS now, or wait till flowering. Also, I'm certain this is GRAPE from viewing this thread https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/384559-grape-ape-clone-400w-tent.html . I noticed some nice results using a HPS and some 2700k CFL's down low during flowering. She is getting taller. I may do some topping.

How old is she? I've put plants into flower(HPS) as early as 2 weeks. But I started from seed. Meaning my root system is started and deeper. Before you put your clone under hps you want to make sure her roots are started into the soil good. Or you could put the hps in but have it really high up so as not to get your plant to hot. Than lower it as the plant get used to it.

I've had the clone for 9 days. How high up? about 2 feet above the top of plant? Its responding well to the CFL's. I'm now running 4 23w 6500K at it, with a fan blowing.

I personally, would wait 10 to 12 more days. Then put them in with the light 2 feet up. See how they do for 2 to 3 day and start lowing the lights to the correct position.

Day 20. I lined up the grow box with black/white poly and fired up the HPS about 23 inches above the top of plant. I have the fan blowing at the HPS ballast now. At first it was directly on the plants and got a little too much heat.
