Thanks Encom - happy enough with it. I like the old Jeff Spicoli whoooaaaa high - slitty red eyes, dry mouth. The body buzz puts me to sleep and makes me need coffee all day long , so I aim for the clear to cloudy white trichomes. As soon as I scan, see amber, and also see mostly cloudy thats when I pulled. The monster cola weighted 56 g clipped off the plant - but found there was a little bud rot and mold on the inner core part of it. Disappointed with that. Not throwing it out, its the white cottony fibrous mold like what you get on early roots. Just pulling it off, removing the dead brown bud, and keeping the rest. Been getting BLITZED. I have a mystery strain in my space now, getting a week more... ill post pics maybe you guys can help me figure the strain.Nice update man. Looks good so far! What kind of high are you shooting for?
Yeah, you remember the dreams from the start. I AM glad to at least be coming out of it with something. Like I told Encom, that monster cola weighed 56g off the plant fresh, and it had inner core bud rot at the top 33% and some white fuzzy cotton mold. So most of them died. Learned and decided to go full white widow net grow, 4 plants only, and going 12/12 as soon as they stand up, pinching, scrogging, and harvesting earlier (2-3 months as opposed to the near 4 this one took). Luckily and odly enough, the bagseed I threw in there to make it an even 12 thrived over the rest and is the last man standing in the space taking an extra 7 days while the rest of the harvest dries. Have either of you tried the rush dry method? Moist bud on stone or ceramic plate, oven at 150, 20-25 mins. Dont lose a single trichome, or THC, just the scent gets messed with, but its a great way to sample before the entire dry process if ur impatient like I am. Saw a post on it when looking up what temps THC breaks down or is degraded / released etc. Ill repost if ur interested. Again, wish I had more weight, but so glad this day has come and I have something. Some damn potent shit if I may say.Hellz yes Demon! All of those colas look amazing man Nice work! Sorry to hear about your autoz Losses are to be expected here and there, but still....your crop looks killer! I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the finished product I still got 2 more girlz to chop myself so the wait game is in full force lulz
Yea man we for sure used that quick-dry method a few times for tester buds Worked well it seemed..sounds like you got your next plan mapped out which is good We're definately doin shiz a little differently next round as well. Once we move our veg'n ladiez then I'ma work out some kind of RDWC system to throw in tha tent with the 400w. Prolly a SCROG as well. No fuckups this time tho lulz. Horizontal branches ftw! I'm with tha bro. Thanx for the updates and the great pics!Yeah, you remember the dreams from the start. I AM glad to at least be coming out of it with something. Red eyes and dry mouth sound to me like a "body" high. I myself like the cerebral high like you and harvested my last crop when I saw a few amber trichs and mostly cloudy like you. Thanks Encom - happy enough with it. I believe thats true. I did already force dry (heat) the bad bud, and ran it thru a grinder, and collected the sugar. Looked at it under a microscope - no signs of the mold fibers.Red eyes and dry mouth sound to me like a "body" high. It's too bad about your monster bud and the mold. While I see that you managed to trim off the bad; I've read that you can derive ice-hash from moldy buds and not risk contamination from the mold. I'd have to find the source of this information to be sure however.
Ha, I wouldn't worry so much about impatience if you plan on jar-curing. The first thing I did on my last crop and being "dry" I took one on the branches I had harvested and water-cured for a quick (relative to jar-curing), fully cured smoke. I've done a few quick-dry methods and found the harshness of the smoke extremely undesirable. I'd rather wait out 6-7 days and water cure for a smooth, cured smoke (albeit tasteless).I believe thats true. Am going to wait for the last full sized plant (yet to be harvested) until it gets amber, and see how that feels in difference. Impatience is a factor thats hard to rule out though.
