First off, thanks for viewing my thread, Questions, comments, concerns are always welcome.

Anyway back to the core specs heres my setup:
- 4 blue mystics auto flowering (from nirvana shop)
-250w hps lighting
-5 gal pots
-growing in a good size walk in closet.
- box fan
-Soil-

Made by Sungro, Sunshine natural and organic planting mix. Ingredients are: 75%-85% sphagnum peat moss, perlite, dolomite lime (for ph adjustment (PH of the mix is 5.0-7.0 oudda the bag according to the website)) and an organic wetting agent (yucca extract).
going to use HPS threw the whole grow. Anyway here some pics.

Pic of the bag

I'm pretty anxious to run ph water threw the soil (before i plant) and see what my end ph is.

Just wanting to save money on bud and educate myself. Strictly for personal consumption/close friends

Thanks for reading,

Ok I've officially started growing, i am currently on day 4. Sorry if some information seems a little diconnected, I transfered this information from a diffrent thread i was on, becuase I just decided to just share with you guys my first grow experience all together and just give it its own thread, So forgive me now, things wont be so scatter brain my next posts.

I put 4 seeds in a wet paper towel, sealed it in a sandwich bag, and put it under our modem. 3 of the 4 seeds cracked and were planted yesterday (the 3rd day) the fourth seed which i just checked still hasnt popped (beginning 4th day of germ) I think ill give it another day or so, then im going to germ the 5th seed to replace it.
Heres a pic of the set up I guess all being said it about ehhh 75 degrees in there (I need to get a thermometer) The only thing I have a concern with at the moment is am I giving too much light to the little girls/should I even be exposing them to light right now? The 250 hps is about 3 feet away from them. I def don't think its making the girls too hot because the top of the soil is still pretty moist after a day of the hps being on for 20/4. (oh btw i ran PH water threw the soil waited an hour and tested the PH of the soil...6.7

As always comments/questions/concerns are always welcome!

And the other black container is just where i pour the run off from the plants, i figured it would be good to add a little humidity in there.

The end of day 4, I checked on the last seed that wasnt cracked at all this morning, and it indeed it is now cracked and had a nice spike on it! (I def understand people now when they say some take allot longer to germ then others (even if it is the same genes). So it is now planted. I am proudly 4 of 4. 2 of the girls are already just breaking the surface! I'll post pics in a few days when there's actually interesting stuff to look at haha.

The pics were taken on day 10/11. Link11010905.jpgLink11071734.jpgLink11071735.jpgLink11071735_1.jpgNute Burn?Link11071736.jpgLink11071736_1.jpgNute Burn?.....Link11080814.jpgLink11080814_1.jpg
Every appears to be going well except i have a little concern about the leaf arch. (as shown in the last 2 pics) is this normal? on day 9 i watered them mixed with 20% FF grow big nutes. I had a stretching problem, they kept wanting to lay over, so after 2 days of this i added a little more dirt to the top (fan has been on them the whole time). I woke up this morning and there sticking straight up again, so i think problem solved. on the 2 pics of that i have a top down view, Do you guys think i have mild nute burn? And lastly I planning to transfer them to 5 gallon pots tomorrow before i leave for the weekend.

The start of day 15. They definitely had to of been over watered, because i haven't watered them in 4 days and they came right back to life, looking great now. starting to get a slight smell to them. One of the girls really hasnt grown much/at all in 4 days. I think I'm going to leave her in there just for giggles/maybe experiment with her. Link11130631.jpgLink11130631_1.jpgLink11130632.jpg

Start of day 21. I've been watering them about every 4 days, there looking great. Giving them 50% ff Grow Big. Started using a ona block. (btw which rock) I think I'm just going to grow the little guy out of curiosity, and see what kind of harvest I can you can get off a runt.Link11191713.jpgLink11191714.jpgLink11191714_1.jpgLink11191726.jpgLink11191726_1.jpg sorry to quality isn't the best, but my only concern at the movement is on the last pictures. Is it alright if the leaves just a little bit curl up along the edges of the leave. Some leaves are doing it, while others arnt at all, while others will have it on just a couple fingers. Heres the best pics i could getLink11191726_2.jpg Link11191726_2.jpgLink11191732.jpgLink11191732_1.jpg

end of day 26. I came home to my big plant almost touching the top of the light and starting to flower! :) bad news is that i think the big one got too hot. Link11251906_3.jpg on a side note, i think he might just have needed watered (cuz it was 5 days and the soil was def dry and crusty). More towards the bottom of plant, the leaves were yellow and dry. So i watered the plant, I guess we'll have to see how shes doing tom. The other 2 however and doing great. Started using flowering nutes as well when I watered. Link11251906.jpgLink11251906_2.jpgLink11251907.jpg Lastly the runt is still growing (slowly but surely). shes very short for how old she is. (shes only 5 days off from the other 3 plants). Overall very pleased so far! Its amazing how much I'm learning!

Link12011724.jpgLink12011724_1.jpgLink12011725.jpg Day 31. As you can see they are flowering, the largest one is about 2 feet. Bottom leaves are starting to turn yellow.
one big thing i wanna mention: In terms of blue mystic being known as one of the "less stinky" strains to grow, its making my whole apartment smell. So I just wanna warn anyone whos thinking about growing this, IT WILL SMELL!! EVEN WITH ONA blocks/gel!! However, I've also found that they seem to stink on and off. (atleast at the moment) Sometimes, when I walk into the apartment, you can def mildly smell them, but other times, ill walk into to grow room itself and the room barely smells at all!
Im getting a carbon filter to properly take care of this problem before is escalates even further.
Everything seems to be going great, I've been giving them 50% strength of the FF grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. Watering wise, I'd say I give them 3/4 a gallon of water about every 5 days on average (though i go by weight of the pot, not days passed) I also rotate the girls 180 degrees when i water them. Some of the leaves have slight blueish hues to the, but the bud itself is showing no signs of blue yet, but I've read that if it comes, it wont be till the last couple weeks.

The runt is about half the size as the others, and is starting to flower. I'm skeptical about her because she only has roughly 5 bud sites while the other 3 have 15+ bud sites. But i'll keep her growing till the end and see what happens.

just saw your grow, good stuff. PLants looked healthy except signs of heat stress from eary on, its turning the leaf blades up and giving that kinda 'bubbly' look to the leaves. So look out for heat issues! once you sort that out it should be alllllll gd

yeah i think i still see some heat probs on the update, but they are looking mostly healthy, only small signs of heat stress, but it can still be enough to turn hermie or reduce yeild etc. Have you got intake/exhaust in there?

On the second from last update looks like N deficiency, maybe they eat alot? Do you pH check your waterings/feeding? Just a hint, on my grow i noticed that when my plants completely dried out and the leaves drooped (it would be the difference between midday on day 4 and day 5!) the fan leaves would turn yellow and fall off, so watch out for drooping leaves a few days after watering, as it could signal that the next day you will get falling leaves ;) looking like strong healthy plants though, i hope you can keep them healthy :leaf:

First, Thanks for stopping in lowblower.
Yes i do ph my water, ~6.5. In terms of N deficiency, I think your right. I'm debating on adding nitrogen, but at the same time, the leaves that are turning yellow, are def more towards the bottom portion of the plant. It doesnt seem to be spreading at a rate like theres someting seriously wrong Link12031046.jpg (sorry if my pics dont do the best justice) and the yellowing appears to be leveling off. (which also just makes me think its just part of the cycle.) Currently there looking a nice deep green on top with bearly/ if any yellow, but I will def have to keep an eye on it.

Ventilation wise, its been kinda hit an miss. I do not have any exhaust fans or fresh air being pumped in other then the box fan that blows on them. I try to leave the door a little open during the day and at night. If i leave the door shut for 24hrs, the room gets to ~90 degrees (I don't have a thermometer in there yet) The room itself is 8x8, rather large for just 4 plants. My carbon filter should be here anytime this week, hopefully it will better circulate the air in there, but the girls seem pretty happy right now.
Thanks for the droopy leaves tip, when i got back after 6 days, the bottom leaves were pretty much very yellow and almost crunchy. (but i wasn't saturating the soil well enough when I watered at the time. Now that ive been actually watering them correctly, I would imagine they could go a week without water and still be okay, keep in mind my pots are 5 gallons lol)

Day 36:I'm wondering what this? this just happened within the last 24/48 hrs or so Link12050631.jpg Its only on 1 leave on 1 plant. I don't think its nute burn because Ive been feeding them the same nute concentration for about 3 weeks now. I will say additionally, my biggest plant's leaves are turning a little yellow on top, but its been 6 days since I've watered them (pic was taken yesterday before I watered). Hopefully they just needed watered, and I just watered them an hour ago. I'm gonna wait and see if that solves my discoloration problems and take it from there. Here is a pic of the yellow leaves: Link12050632.jpg. Since the yellowing is on my biggest plant only, i have a suspicion that maybe he just needed watered more then the others. (since he is bigger).

Lastly the tips of the leaves are a little yellow aswell, which from what I've read is a sign of nute burn. Which makes no sense to me because like i said above, ive been giving them the same concentration of nutes for 3 weeks now.

PS. All water always has been PH'd.

day 37: Just wanted to say the yellowing has for the most part gone away since i've watered it. that orange spot that leaf is still there, but isnt getting any worse or spreading *knock on wood. Most of the leaves still have small yellow tip to them, which makes me think they are prolly getting slight nute burn. Next time I will work my way up to 40% nute strength instead of 50%. I'm just gonna keep giving them the same nute concentration for the rest of the grow and see if they continue to be yellow, if so, when I start flushing them (about 20 days from now) hopefully there color will come back, then it should give me a good idea if it was some sort of a nute problem.

Side note: Carbon filter came yesterday. Yea! those things rock! If you have the money, screw the ona blocks/gel and just get a filter! You will never regret it. The 6" combo kit I got will make my room (roughly 8 x 8 )smell completely neutral in 5 min! Though it is pretty loud, once I have a speed controller on it, I would imagine it will be virtually silent, especially when I have the closet door shut.

Here's a link to the filter i have if anyone is wondering : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ZJNW3Q/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Day 40. The yellowing has increased. I think its some sort of nutrient defficency. For some reason, and didnt dawn on me till now, but I dont think i wasnt giving them enough nutes. I think this because my runt plant is still pretty happy, while her bigger sisters are turning yellow and the blotchy yellow/orange color is getting worse. Since biggest plant use more nutes (duh) this makes me believe maybe i wasnt giving them enough (since I've only been giving them 50%.) So i just watered them with 100% nute strenght. Hopefully they dont get nute burn from that much of a nute jump. I'm so glad a kept that runt, it makes for a good physical reference. I'll take some pics of the bud itself once their bigger. (I would have felt bad cutting a piece of bud this early in the game) These were taken on day 40. Sorry the quality isn't the best.

hey mate, nice plants u have. i just started a 250w thing too, im just past 3 weeks. if u ask me, and im not a profesional or anything, the yellow/orange on the leaves is a P, K def. at least on my outdoor grow, when that thing happened, i fixed it with a PK 13/14 fertilizer. see how the edge and the veins are still green, the yellow is only between them. but on the other pic it looks like a little nute burn too, so cant really say. i would flush and after feed with 50-75% PK 13/14, but, dont take my word, rather do a day of good research first. all in all they look great, even without fixin the prob they should be good.

Thanks for stopping in magasper0! According to my research, I think I have a cal/mag deficiency (which is the most common deficiency). I think I've ruled out nute burn, because i flushed one of my plants, and she really didnt get any better/ maybe worse after 3 days. On day 40 (like I mentioned on a previous post), I gave them all 100% nute strength. Its day 42 now, and though its only been 2 days, the color appears to be slowly coming back, and though the orange spots are still there, they don't seem to be getting any worse at least. (and yes my nutes contain cal/mag (2% calcium, .5% magnesium, and for your PK deficiency comment, P2O5 8%, and K2O 4% according to FF bottle(s) so though I cant be sure exactly what deficiency I have, at least things appear to be straightening up now *knock on wood) I started noticing the orange spots at day 35. (I've kept a daily log) So if my theory is correct. I would make sure your using 100% nute strength by day 33-36 (at least this appears to be true with my growing conditions/strain) my room usually is around 71-82 degrees with my relative humidity ranging from 51-69%. At this point, I'm considering getting a dehumidifier, humidity is getting a little high in there sometimes, especially for those few day after I water and if I leave my closet door shut. I've also read the humidity decrease the life of carbon filters. I'm also noticing a decrease in performance from my filter with the higher humidity as well. I'll need to get this taken care of because if/when i decided to grow some stinkier strains, I really cant be leaving the closet door open to help keep humidity down, not to mention leaving the door cracked isn't a good idea anyway. :-?

good, seems things are gettin better(not like they were bad). dont know, i can only show u a photo i have of my mg def View attachment 2438587, yours looks different. no photo of what i would say was a P or K def tho, dark yellow/orange spots between veins and leaf edge. now that i remember, my friend had that spots too not long ago. fixed with just a normal bloom fert. anyway, guess your fert will fix it anyway, it had all u need. cheers
