1st grow. A few more questions.

Hey everyone. I posted a thread a little while ago and I got a ton of great help and info. I'm not sure if I should have posted these in that thread but I figured I'd start a new one with new questions. I've also attached a few pictures to help. Some info first and then the questions and hopefully I can get some help.

Both plants are 1 month 1 wk old. They spent 1 month some odd days under fluorescents and were just put under a 400 watt MH bulb a cpl das ago. 18/6 hrs of light. I'm using Pure Blend Pro grow for nutes at 1/4 strength and they have received 2 mute feelings so far. I don't know pH but they are green and seem happy and healthy so far. Oh and I just re-potted them both into 3gal containers. Even though they were tall their root systems were immense.

My questions are....
1. They look good from the top but to me kind of spindly from the side. How do I build a thicker bushier plant with more i guess budd-able branches. (Im new to this so if my terms are off I apologize)

2. When can I takes clone cuttings? (I feel like the plants are too small right now)

3. Am I in line with decent growth for the time? To grow decent plants for decent yields.

Any help/advice or opinions would be much appreciated. This is my first grow and I'm probably over thinking everything but I'm super excited. The fact I've gotten this far is amazing. Lol.

You plants look perfect, and get a ph tester, I wouldn't take a clone for about another 2 weeks , let them develop some more.

Yeah they look good for their size. If you want to make them bushier you should consider training like topping. You can also use the tops to make clones. I can't give you any information about cloning though. I grow from seeds.

Thanks for the replies. I've done some reading and looking into FIM'ing Im gonna do some reading on topping. I look at the forum and some people's plants and I feel overwhelmed. Lol. I kinda know where I wanna go with the little ones I'm just not sure exactly how to get there. Idk how big to let them get before I induce flowering or how long to flower for. But I know that's a whole other topic. I'm hoping that they'll at least grow a cpl feet tall before flowering and be little bushes but now I'm just talking outta my ass cause idk know how to trim or prune for that. So if anyone out there has any info. Hahahaha.

Topping and LST are they way to go IMO. as far as when to induce flowering, my plants tend to triple in size from the time i switch to 12/12 to the time they are done so i would plan accordingly. good luck with the grow man

I would start bending those ovr right now, some great guides on lst if you google them. Looking good

Space isn't an issue. I have 5 ft of width space to work with and about 8 ft of height prob 7 because of the light and hood. I was just doing some looking on some videos about pruning and lst but I'm still not grasping the whole concept. This bending can anyone explain it. And this is a really dumb question but since this is my first grow ill ask away. Where exactly do buds grow on the plant and from the pictures I uploaded shoukd I start pruning and which branches if so. I don't want to take too much off too soon and stress/kill the girls.

Your space may be tall but you will only get great light in the first ~24" with a 400w, using LST you can get a lot out of that 24".
