1st grow - am I killing them?

hey everyone...anyone:
I'm into my 1st grow and having some trouble that I cant figure out. I need help before I kill them before they have a chance...

Details and pics are:
3 plants from bagseed in my home-built cabinet. one is larger than the other two and I' hoping to top it to let the others catch up. Bet, plants look stressed and wilting, especially #1. Nute burn? Lighting shock? Leaves are drying and curled.

Water was at 600ppm per GH nute directions, added tablespoon of Epsom Salt on 11-19-08.

Water was bottled purified, PH to 6.0 (using drops, hard to tell)

Nov 21 had lights (250 watt MH) on 18-6 at 12 inches above #1 (lowered three times from 24 inches above)

Plant 1 show signs of burn or shock, but good roots, so I pumped out about 5 gallons and replaced 4 to cut nute level.

Now: all plants showing stress. As pics show

Temps: 78 -82 F, good airflow; water temp = 80 F; PPms = 480 -580; PH = 6.5 – 6.0 using drops and color (hard to tell).

Cab anyone tell me what this looks like? I've searchd many, many threads but cant seem to figure it out. I'm thinking lighting issue or PH, or nutes...? Any and all help is very appreaciated!

looks over watered can you controll how fast the dripps are.

cause all the stuff you stated should get you a bumper crop

dont use bottled water it has bad kind of salt in it that might just be your problem

buy a reverse ossmossis at sams club and hoook it up to your sink,a lot better water

Hello. If this is DWC, which it looks like it is....then your pH is off. pH should be around 5.8, add or subtract .1 pH. It will be roughly the same for Aero too... It looks like you really need a meter, since from my own expereinces, a drop test kit will kill your plants lol. Look on eBay for a Hanna HI98129, I have this one and it is AWESOME. Your ppm's may be a little high, though they don't look like nute burned plants. Also, I would suggest more lighting, say another of what you have, or perhaps an HPS of similar size since you will DEFINITELY want that for flowering anyway. Good luck!

Thanks for the input everyone. PH could be the issue. I am having trouble getting a good match to the color scale.

I'm also noticing a good root system on them but they get a brown film on the roots- like the nutes are settling there - its not rot. Is nute coloring at the roots normal?

I'm confused about the overwatering. With no drip and DWC its basically all water. I have two air pumps and four stones so air bubbles seem good...?
