From what I've read it not only keeps the plants low so you can grow in more confined space, but also redistributes hormones so all the colas contend for that "top spot". I'm not really worried about space anymore like at the start of my grow, and my LST was doing more harm than good at this point. The plant seems thick and strong enough to maintain this shape without the tie downs. For awhile atleast we will see how she shapes herself.

i am doing 5 plants under a 150hps and like 6 20 wat 2400k cfls.....
I was thinking about toping all them....followed by lst for all of them to... i thought it would help with soace issues and keep them small with nice buds

She is looking nice since I untied her. I also pH'd the water, she seems to have liked me for it. The clone also seems to be doing good, I mean it's not dead atleast. Or it doesn't look dead anyway.
I top'd and did LST, and I think it worked out very well. I'd recommend it, it's really fun shaping the plant yourself, telling it where to grow and making it your bitch. This is my first grow though, but I think I'll use the same methods on my next grow. Unless I can get a DWC setup going. Although I think with that kind of setup I might try a scrog or something, those always seem really dope. Anyway, that's how I feel about it!

Yup you got it! I got mine going, proven to help thc production by 20-40% tho I may not worry about it much longer, I'm out of height and tying down permanently now lol. I just manned up and cut a hole through closet to living to living room and installed ducting... I may be jumping to hps in two weeks at least for 5 of them lol ooops

Mine are day 31 flower now and similar, I had some foliage drop on lower branches but I believe that's the shade at the bottom of the damn Rubbermaid. That and possible antagonistic lockout from the damn cannabis specific nutes I was using at first
Yeah it was a job and a half. I think a grow tent might be a better option than a closet for most tho. Hucking a hole in the wall is commitment lol and the possibility of a much larger lawsuit if ur not medical growing (landlords suing..).
