1st Grow Cfl

So I went to check on the temps right now to see how the room took the new CFLs. Anyways I was looking at my baby, dancing in the wind to some Atmosphere, and i spotted this! Can anyone help me confirm?? Its been in flower for 9 days now and i spotted this little white hair. Didn't feel like moving her around too much to check for others but this is one that stood out to me. I went ahead and circled it to notice better. Anyone with tips on what it is please help!

everything is looking good bo
you're definitely off to a good start
plant looks healthy and green
i cant really say for sure if thats a "female pistil" or not but it sure looks like it.
They usually show sex on the first couple of nodes if not the very top.

In two more days or so you can look again and be sure if you see a white hair its a girl
subd up

and remember when you start giving nutes start at 1/4 strength and work your way up until the tips of your leaves start to turn yellow
thats your plants way of telling you " ok this is all i can take" lol

Thanks man its refreshing to hear from another that I am doing okay. The soil is getting pretty dry now so im thinking either tomorrow or Friday is when I will start her FF nutes. I mixed together 1 tbsp Big Bloom (0.01-0.3-0.7) + 1 tsp Tiger bloom (2-8-4). The directions say 1-4 tbsp Big Bloom per gallon of water and Tiger bloom says 1-3 tsp. (I tried to do half a tsp but from it being a little bubbly im estimating a full tsp)

When I took that shitty pic with my droid I noticed some pistils that were white exactly where you said they would be. The top couple nodes. Not alot of hairs just 1-2 but definately white. :) im excited for the next couple days and +rep for the comments.

IT'S A GIRL!

Call me lucky, but my first baby came out a girl! Super excited to further see what she can do.

So anyways she is officially 11 days since the 12/12 started. The only thing i've done since then is add 1 55w 2700k and 1 42w 2700k. So right now I have a total of 243 actual watts. (2 26w 2700k + 2 26w 6500k + 2 42w 2700k + 55w 2700k = 243) With my door closed the temps have gotten up to 86 degrees. So now I am contemplating whether to put the HPS in there or find a way to increase the height. Ideas??

Its been 4 days since she has been watered and I'm gonna be watering her in a little bit. I'll be starting her off with her first dose of nutes! (1 tbsp Big Bloom + 1 tsp Tiger Bloom per Gallon of distilled water) I'm thinking she'll take about 500ml of water. Can't wait to see how she likes them.

Also, I was wondering if I could tie her down after this watering?? I don't want her to get too tall as I might run out of head room. But will this stress her out and effect her growth?? Any tips welcome. Don't be shy :weed:

I will be posting pics when I pull her out to water her. I just gotta take care of some stuff real quick .:joint: :hump: Happy smoking and thanks for stopping by

Congrats, BG! That's great news.

Temps of 86 deg certainly aren't ideal...but they're not all that bad, either. I'd be a little worried if they get any higher, so keep an eye out for that. You could probably even lose the 6500K bulbs if you wanna try to get the temps down to a more comfortable range...or try replacing all of the cfls with the 150w hps...watch the temps...then add some cfls if feasible. It's really your choice. You could finish this grow with only the cfls, or only the hps (or possibly a combo of the two). Either way would provide enough light to grow some pretty nice buds.

Thanks man! Today, I was actually going to take out those bulbs (6500k) out and see what the temps were. The HPS will be here today so tomorrow when the lights turn on I will put that in there and see what the temps are looking like. I really hope I can use the HPS. If I wasn't moving here soon I would build a bigger cab. But I'm hoping my new closet at my new place will be perfect. Sorry for the ramble...but I will keep everyone posted on what happens today and tomorrow. Pics coming very soon!

So my camera wouldn't focus yesterday and today had the same problems. Me being too impatient (and too stoned :eyesmoke:) I decided to just take pictures with my phone. Here they are...let me know what you guys think. Gave her 1200ml yesterday of 1/4 strength nutes. She is looking fantastic. The browning on the top is from growing so much overnight and touching the light when I woke up. Extremely fast growth.

Can I tie her down during flowering so she doesn't grow too much taller?? I've been looking it up and it seems its just opinionated. So anyone with the correct knowledge please feel free to share ha ha. I just dont want to run out of head room only 3 weeks into flowering ha ha

its too late man just ler her grow out.. it already has pistils coming out i really would just leave it alone and let it do its thing..you should put a few cfls around the sides of the plants.. get that cola nice and fat

Thanks for being the first person to give me a straight up answer. Most of the people I asked just beat around the bush ha ha. Anyways I have 2 42w and 1 55w on top and 2 26w on the sides. Thinking about adding one more so it has a light on each side besides the back where the fans are. +rep for the advice

I agree with harvey once in flower let it do what it do unless you are an advanced grower and have worked with the strain for some time so you know how it speaks. Subbed.

hey bird, just read up your thread. beautiful plant you have, and congrats on the femaleness! at this stage of early flowering it's probably best to let her grow, unless you absolutely are running into a space crunch, in which case you could carefully bend, but only if it's a necessity. also watch your temps with the hps. i'd consider getting a stronger exhaust fan to keep temps down, especially with summer weather coming up. very nice grow, i'll be watching! +rep

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Its great to know I'm doing a decent job. I'm scared to put an hps in there. With the light and refelctor I will only have 10 inches from the top of my cab to the top of the plant now. the only problem is the plant is continuing to grow tall. As a result, I will probably just have to stick with CFLs. Right now I have a total of 231 actual watts. Not nearly as powerful, light wise, as the HPS but I think it'll do just fine in that small space. I'll update here in a couple days to let you know the progress. Happy smoking :bigjoint:
