Hey all this is an update of my lavender kush, she is now 4 weeks and growing her fifth node and leaves! On a harsher note I gave my little girl to someone special, not going to miss her though I want to be able to get all of the 150W of HPS I can reflect. Plus I am a noob so I am going to take it slow and learn like everyone else. So in my pics you can assume she isn't in good health and your right. My new growth (3-5 node and leaves) is greener than the bottom two nodes and leaves on her. Her first broadleaves are a pale yellow almost white, they are still thriving those leaves are not drying out and flaking off so I am not so worried as some might tell me to be. So guys and gals tell me what is going on with her? My theory is that she is starving for nutes. My PH is perfect at 6.8 last time I used my soil PH meter which was 15 minutes ago. Maybe she needs to be in a little more acidic soil? Like 6.0? She is also getting a faint pepper skunk smell to her which I heard is a good sign of life. Had another question about PH-up and Ph-down testing kit. Will this help my soil maintain a level of PH that is steady if I use the up or down with my water? Someone told me you can only use it for hydroponic but you are just changing the PH of your water which is good to water your plant. Right?
Just got done watering and fertilizing with my fox farm grow big! Used 1/4 teaspoon for 2 liters of water. Its been about two hours and I am not seeing any change other than more droopiness from the watering which is normal. So I will post pics when I see either a negative or positive effect. I started off slow with the nutes cause she is delicate. My schedule is nutes, next water none, next water nutes and so on and so on, each time upping my dose of grow big to see how much and how often to feed her.
So here she is 48 hours after her 1/8 teaspoon with 2 liters of water. She is definately bigger and she greened up but I don't know if I will be able to save the first set of broadleaves, they look very bad just look at the 6th and 7th pics. My 5th set of leaves are growing fast and big, fatter than any of the other sets, but not too healthy. They look yellowish and dark green is this normal or am I doing something wrong? On the very tips of my broadleaves(above the second set) I can see a yellowing but no curling. What do you think?
Dude i think everything looks good.... your putting too much thought into the whole grow thing.... let it go... its not ready for nutes yet your soil has them in it already..... chill off em and clip those lower leaves you'll be golden
So ya plants are doing great and are growing about a half an inch a day so far for two days! Made a good flush monday to get those nutes I put in there out. Still a bit droopy from the shock of the flush but the yellow of the top broadleaves is fading.
Here check it out much better huh?
Oh ya and I clipped those dieing leaves but the next set up is getting rough too, I'm getting curling, yellowing and brown spots. Thinking it was nutes that might just do them in but I am keeping a close eye on here so hopefully they pull through. Starting to get some leaves growing at the intersections where the broadleaf stems meet the main stem. Really starting to not worry so much she stanks and is looking good!
Hello dead thread just thought I would update since this is my first grow journal. Overwatered last saturday. Was a learning wxperience though I know about how much she is drinking now. I watered saturday not watering for 4 days prior. Before saturday I watered with 2 liters of water. 4 days later, which was last saturday i watered with 2 liters of water again and it was too much for her. From what I have seen it takes just about 7 days exactly for her to drink up 2 liters of water right now. So knowing this I will be watering her with 1 liter every 3-4 days. She has recovered very nicely from her overwatering, she looked bad.
Still getting that yellowing of the bottom leaves and it gets greener as you go up the plant. First the leaves get spots and kinda curl at the tips and sides. Then the yellowing. Just going to let her grow and I am going to start adding nutes cause she is still kinda droopy and her growth slowed down. Mixing 1/8 TSP of grow big to 1 gallon water and I am not sure about the big bloom. BB is organic so I can use more so I am thinking 1/8 TBSP to 1 gallon of water also. So my fertilizer cocktail should last me almost 4 feedings. Now i have to keep some fresh, no nute water for inbetween feedings. Never want to fertilize every time.
She is sitting at 8 1/2" as of today so hopefully in 15 days she gets somewhere between 10-12 inches so I can flower. I know she is a dwarf but this is my first grow and I want to see what this mini plant does lol.
Hey... Im a first time grower myself, just started a thread. I think your baby is looking really good! Hope it continues going well... can't wait to see more. Sub'd
Hey thanks guys I am just uploading some pics, she is doing well. Today is feeding day and will not be using nutes, just 1 liter of distilled water that is PH'd to 6.5. Today she is standing at 9 inches which is just one short inch away from me starting to flower her.
Pics are exactly 72 hours after watering and will be watering after this post.
Notice the scissors lol!
Using it to straighten my stem up lol seen it done by my uncle, works very well. don't worry I didn't damage the stem she is fine. Switched out the scissors with dominoes(less weight).
Here are the pics with the dominoes and my camera whether I have the room light or my hps or even my daylight CFL's my plant looks more yellow in the pic than what I am seeing lol. The yellow tint isn't bad until the first two nodes.
So day 52 and she is looking good sitting at 10 1/2 inches tall. Have a few new things to share. Added two more 6500K daylight CFL. Want to really get the main stem leafy for my buds. Had minimal nute burn at the very very tips of some of the broadleafs so I clipped them and also clipped the dieing leaves at the bottom. Again the next set up is looking like they are going to perish also. Doesn't look like the next set of leaves is yellowing though but will watch. I'm seeing some preflowers I think alos and it looks (hopefully not) like it might be a male.
I've seen those little devils pop out two little hairs before though on other peoples' plants so I am hoping for the best and I know I will find out here in about 3 days. Update as soon as I find out. Plan on flowering as soon as these preflowers show their genitalia lol.
Well here are some updated pictures of the main stem and those preflowers I was talkin about. Top row pic, third from the left shows the preflower or if not let me know.
So I had an idea for my grow medium next grow. 30% motherearth perilite, 20% vermiculite, 20% coco, 30 % FF all purpose organic soil. Seems in my research plants should love it.
have you researched adding salts to the nute mix? I have included epsom salts in every other watering at sparse levels of course and all of my plants are green and healthy.
