i am about 6 days into my grow and finally i got some pics to post. a little about my set first

+ i am using a 10 gallon fish tank with the sides blocked off so no light gets to the nutes

+ 4 foot fluro's 6500K color 2 bubles 40 watts each

+ air pump to a air stone in the bottom of the nutes

+ 3" net pots with rockwool inserted into 2" styrofoam that is floating on top of the nutes

+ a fan to move the air

+ dyna grow nutes will be used

there is one plant in the middle(i put a red circle around it) that is a cucumber plant yes i did say cucumber and my girlfriend wanted to grow it so please dont pay that any attention.

with that being said will that mess my plants up? if so it has to go.

i hope you like what you, please leave any feedback!

They are all good, keep an eye on your rockwool at the top ok, sometimes when the rockwool at the top is so exposed they get green algi, i sometimes put a little tin foil around mine but the dull side up, mirror side down, and all you see is the stem coming through, (so the rockwool is coverd) and is protected. just a thought. but i like the set up youl go far and i will follow your progress ok. chill ax out

Honestly, if you are worried about how it looks I say go for the tin foil if the algae and salt buildup bother you. That's all it is though... an eye sore. The tin foil keeps it dark where it wont grow, but its not necessary. I have too many plants to worry about something mundane like that. My bud is always amazing and I'm the only one who ever sees the plants anyway right? Just trying to save you from maybe wasting your time on something that wont effect your harvest what-so-ever. Peace.

Though your cucumber plant may suffer when your plants get taller and light becomes a problem for it. Thats down the road though... good luck.

the whole thing will spread out on the outside with its root system its an external system then it daisy chains from one to another and they get quite large in that area it would not work trust me ive grown cucs for 12 years in a garden

So are there holes in the bottom of the pots for the nutrients to flow through? Also did how did you wrap the roots or whatever, and did you grow first from soil and then transplant into this system or did you grow straight into this system?
