Hey All,
Long time reader and lurker but first time poster. I've read and learned a lot from you guys and am trying my best to implement.
Just doing a post about my setup and to see if anyone wants to weigh in with any tips on what I could be doing better.
So to start I am growing 4x Grandaddy Bruce's from Cannuk Seeds. (GDP X Bruce Banner). Feminized Photoperiod.
My growing medium is Pro-MIX HP in 5 Gallon Cloth Pots.
Space : 4x4x6.7 Grow Tent
Exhaust : 6" 425ish CFM Inline fan - connected to light pulling raw air from the opposite side of the light. Passive intake with exhaust being ducted right outside through a 6" vent.
Light : 1000 watt dimmable ballast cooled hood - MH for Veg and HPS for Flower
Nutrients : PH Perfect Grow part 1 and 2 from Advanced Nutrients , supplementing with Cal/Mag(Calmax)
Avg Temp lights on : 72 (I had the light initially running without being cooled directly, I had no ducting between the inline fan at the top of the room and the light much lower, temps were about 78-82 at that point)
Lights off : 68ish
They sprouted from the ground on the 26th of September. I initially had them under a 300w blurple mars hydro light for the first ~1.5 weeks of their life before switching to 1000 mh ( I know overkill but it's what I got ). They were planted in red solo cups with holes cut out the bottom
I transplanted them to 5 gallon pots as soon as I saw roots coming from the bottom of the solo cups.
Started feeding extremely light nutes about 1.5 week into the grow. Maybe 20% not even.
Ramped up nutes with feedings.
Note : Water is not good, TDS is super high well water which they have been getting - approx 700 tds. I am always PHing is down to about 6.3 before adding the PH perfect nutes and calmag now. Last watering they got Distilled water at 5.9 PH with a 50% strength of nutes and full str cal mag.
I believe I overpotted them by putting them into such big containers as young as they were, but I think they have recovered quite well. I wonder if I should be putting my light higher to get them to stretch more or lower for faster growth ? I can pretty much touch the glass without burning myself.
I feel like I need them to be taller so I can LST them a bit - I also have a net I can use - if I do should I be lsting and using the netting to direct buds through ?
Also bottom leaves on the bottom 2 plants were getting rusty looking spots - I think they were calmag deficiency as I started using the Cal mag and it appears to have stopped spreading.
I'm thinking 2 more weeks of Veg ?
But LST or using the Net I dunno.
Let me know what you guys think. These pics are 8 days apart(well like 4 of them are today and 1 is 8 days ago)
