1st grow in a robe with Autopot, Hydro and Autoflowers. Help needed!

I bought a grow tent kit with all the gear but I'll use a robe first to get a quick 2-3 month grow in then I'll start a traditional seed grow. Thoughts on how to setup this robe? I'll have 12 gallon res, 2x 4gal pots, 600hps cool tube setup with carbon filter and fan.

Hope I can get all questions answered as my grow progresses.

Here's what I've accomplished so far.

I'm waiting on 2x Auto Fem 60 Day Wonders, 3x Auto Fem Green Poisons, 2x Auto Fem Jack 47's and 3x Dutch Passion Blueberries. I'm going to go with an airdome at the bottom of the pot, 1/4 of the bottom filled with clay balls, and a 70/30 Coco/Perite mix.

What I need help with is recommendations on nutes and how to feed for the first 2 weeks top down and the amount of nutes to use. I hear Autos are nute sensitive so I don't want to over nute.

I hope there is one place I can post a thread to help me all the way from seed to smoke. Thanks everyone!

Recently completed a grow in Autopots using Canna Coco Pro, no perlite or clay pebbles grew 6 Critical Auto Feminized plants from Feminised Seeds under a 600w dual spectrum HPS in a cool tube I don't usually grow this way but had to strip my grow room out for 6 months whilst I had the builders in. The results were pretty impressive both yield and in strength I used Dutch Pro for Auto Flowering in Coco, water for the first two weeks, Grow for 2 weeks and then Bloom for the last 8 weeks adding Dutch Pro explode one third through the flowering phase the shop that sold me the nutes gave me a feed chart downloadable from D P's web site seemed a bit too much so cut down .5mls per 10 ltrs of water the plants thrived, took two weeks longer than the ten weeks stated by the seed bank but like I said the end results surprised me anyway back to my normal method on the next grow, Don't expect Auto Pot's claim of huge increased yields using the Air Domes, might work for certain plants but not for what your growing but they do help to oxygenate the roots and stop water logging hope this helps you on your quest keep us informed of your progress

Dr. Strangelove,
Sounds like I'm doing something similar and I'll really need some help with tips and tricks that you used on your autoflower grow. Specifically:

Did you use nutes and what nutes did you use for the first 2 weeks watering top down and in what ratio per liter? After 10 - 14 days it says to turn the system on, then what nute recipe did you use in the reservoir? Did you have to flush frequently or was the coco you got pre-buffered? Did you have any salt build up? Was the PH and EC stable?

Can you write me a grow guide from your experience using the autopot system and autoflowers? Something like:

Week 1: Water top down with .10ml per liter of Dutch Pro Grow and just plain tap water, 2 times a day
Week 2: Water top down with .25ml per liter of DP Grow and plain tap water 2x per day
Week 3: Fill 12 gallon reservoir and mix X amount of nutes and turn system on
Week 4: Etc, Etc, Etc

This would be a great help then I can print it out and keep it handy next to my calendar. Thanks in advance!

there are loads of nute tutorials and threads on the forums already, i don't want to sound mean, but please have a read before asking questions that have been answered dozens of times already. also this is the wrong section, this is for grow room set ups.

I grew in a 5ft x 3ft grow tent the equipment was a bit over the top for such a small area but I wasn't going to buy smaller when I could use equipment I already had.

Air outtake Rhino Filter connected to an Airforce II fan blowing through a twin Cool Tube with 2 x 600w dual spectrum HPS lamps (only used one at a time alternating every 2 days) and venting outside on hot days inside on cold days.

Intake fan drawing air from outside through a large HEPA filter box disguised in an old A/C unit (home made at a fraction of the cost of a bought one and with the large area less restrictive) the fan speeds and temperature controlled by an SMSCOM twin fan controller.

As this was a bedroom grow I opted for the Auto Pot system rather than use my IWS system I use on regular grows (350ltrs of water can do a lot of damage if something goes wrong) make sure you have the Auto Pot filter inside the tank the small bore tubing can block very easily and once set up is a real pain in the backside to find the blockage it is also a good idea to have an inline tap between the reservoir and pots and also one for each individual pot. As well as having your air pump feeding the Air Domes have a large Air Stone in your reservoir it will help not only to oxygenate the water but keep the nutes well mixed and only run the air pump during the light cycle I had it timed 30mins on 60mins off during the 18hr light period.

I grew on an 18hr on 6hr off cycle throughout the entire grow.

Like I said before the nutrients used were made by Dutch Pro Auto Flowering for Coco in hydro you will need 1ltr of Grow and 5ltrs of Bloom I also used Dutch Pro Explode (bloody expensive £25 for 250mls)

The feeding schedule was as follows nutrients per 10ltrs of water

Week 1 & 2: Water from top no nutrients as the seedlings have all they need built in

Week 3 & 4: 2mls of Grow A & 2mls of Grow B

Week 5: 2.5mls of Grow A & 2.5mls of Grow B

Week 6: change to Bloom

Week 6 & 7: 2.5mls of Bloom A & 2.5mls of Bloom B, Week 7, 0.5mls Explode

Week 8 to 12: 3mls of Grow A & 3mls of Grow B, Week 8, 0.5mls Explode, Week 9 to finish 1ml Explode

When Buds were nearly ready I turned off the system and fed top down to flush the plants

Here is the Dutch Pro web address http://www.dutchpro.nl/

Keep a regular check on your Reservoir as the plants drink a lot of water towards the end if I was doing this grow again I would either piggy back two 47ltr tanks or use a 100ltr tank.

If you need any further advice on your grow room set up let me know not that I am an expert on Auto Pots this was my first time and borrowed them off a friend just followed his advice and it worked well just remember it is better to under feed than over feed.

As for your questions regarding PH, salts etc where I am the water is good and the PH remains constant I used Cana Coco Professional I use it in the IWS system as well. in my regular grow room I use a blue lab auto dosing system but with this grow I just let it happen and it worked well.

Awesome Dr. Strangegrow. Really appreciate the advice and mentoring! I know there are millions of tutes and combinations and mutations of grows but at least now I have a guide from someone who did something similar to what I'm doing. Again, I really appreciate it. Thank you!

Love Red Dwarf! Even Red Dwarf X was great. I nearly went with Ace Rimmer for a username but...... bongsmilie

I went to the local hydroponic store today and the nice man recommended Phat Cocos (Cal and Mag enriched) and "Growstones" in a 50/50 mix so I went with that. He also recommended THC brand A+B Nutes so I went with that as well. He also recommended a handful of "Rockaust" in each pot mix and a sprinkle on top.

Not sure I got the right stuff, I wanted to go high end with Canna or House and Garden or dutch products but he said this was all good for my purpose. Not sure if I done good or not but I'll try my first grow with this stuff.

I am sure your grow will be fine just trust your instincts, good idea to have a temp and humidity meter in your grow room, anyway good luck. Ace Rimmer not a good idea as a user name unless your on a Red Dwarf forum, if I was on Red Dwarf every room would be a grow room keep in touch with your progress you can always PM me if you need advice. I am going into the unknown on my next grow going to try and produce some feminized Auto Flower seeds I like the concept of Auto they have come a long way in a short time but the price of the seeds is expensive wouldn't be to bad if you could clone them but £50+ for ten is way over the top.

I once grew some lowryder. Tasted good smelled good but the high was a little weird for my taste. All body high. Layed on the couch and felt like my arms weighted 1000 pounds each. Im more of the head high semi body high type of guy.
But at the time that was the only auto-flowering plant available at the time. I am sure they have come a long way since then.

Anyone know what auto-flowering plants yield now adays?

I know this isn't really the place to discuss things other than grow room design but as you ask in the temporary tent I set up I grew 6 Auto Critical Feminized seeds (Feminised Seeds) from Rhino Seeds wasn't expecting a big yield as they are supposed to be short plants just enough to see me over the period while the builders were in as I donated the stash I had in the freezer to make some Rick Simpson oil for a friend who had a really aggressive breast cancer at least she is still alive when she shouldn't be whether it was the oil, the hospital treatment or faith is debatable.

In eight weeks these plants apart from one had hit the ceiling of the grow tent 2mtrs less the pot height and had developed big buds all over even on the lower nodes, the main stems were reminiscent of Christine (Thunder thighs) Onasis's legs (If your old enough to remember her) ended up cutting them down with a saw, twelve weeks from start to finish not the nine to ten weeks as stated by the seed company who also stated that they would yield 75g to 100g per sq meter I used 0.75 sq meter as the reservoir and my mother plants were also in the tent, harvested weight was a little under 900g didn't weigh the end product but have more than enough to see me over until the next grow is completed as for strength they claim it will pin you to the sofa got more of a head stone though, but like you say a bit weird though in a nice way that I can live with, just wondering if the seed bank got them mixed up with something else as the outcome was completely different to their description.

Bought ten so am growing the other four in the tent for seed production using 1bud if it works then I will use them on a big grow in the future and might buy some AutoXtreme to make seeds Rhino claim 300g per plant. Yes they have come a long way from the original low ryder both in yield and strength just wish they were cloneable.

Here's what I've done so far with the grow robe. Not sure this is the optimal setup. The fan is pulling from the CF and blowing thru the tube. Haven't figured out an exhaust solution yet. Maybe I should reverse the airflow to have it pull cool air from outside the robe thru the tube and out the Carbon Filter?

That's good so far you, will need to vent the air out of the grow room otherwise it will become to hot and you will need another fan that is thermostat controlled (get an SMSCOM controller if you can afford it) to draw cold air in when the room gets too hot. If you reverse the flow the carbon filter will serve no purpose as it is designed to mask the smell of air leaving the grow room. Looks like you have the space to fit another couple of Autopots which would make your grow more economical anyway it looks good so far

Quick update: I popped the seeds a couple weeks ago. 2 days in a shot glass with water, then only 36hrs in wet tissue and they had inch and half long tap roots. So, I put them straight into the autopot containers...coz everyone has said autos don't like transplanting. They are about 2 inches high now after 1 week in the autopots.

I hope I didn't put them into too big containers right away. I put 2 inches or more of growstones at the bottom then about a good 2:1:1 of Coco/Perlite/Growstones and a handful of rockdust. Yesterday was the end of week 1 in the medium. Only nutes I've used is a handful on top of rockdust mineral fertilizer.

They seem to be doing well, I don't know one way from the other.

I'll water top down for another week and turn on the autopot system with the 12gal/45L res with about 10ml grow A + 10ml of grow B.

I have an exhaust vent duct going from the exhaust on the left just going up and out the top of the closet door. Otherwise I leave the doors open and the temps have been a good 75-77 degrees. It got hot the other day (about 85) so I moved the portable AC unit in and got the temps down to the optimum again.

This isn't the most stealthy grow, the room it's in is facing a pretty busy street with car and foot traffic...also right next to a bus stop for Christ's sake. I might have to move our bedroom to this room and the grow room to our current bedroom or do it for the next grow. I'm just praying this one will go well.
