Recently moved into a new house so I now have a whole room to play around with. I still started everything in a decent sized closet as I plan to keep using it for vegetative and use the big room for flowering. As of now I have one 3 week old sharks breath in a 5 gallon pot of soil and a cole train in a 5 gallon pot of soil. A friend gave me a chem d seed which I popped in the small container to the side in the pictures. I also started to germinate a og kush #18 from reserva privada, a headband from reserva privade and a bubblelicious by nirvana that I got a hydroponic system I am going to run them in. Next week when I make my trip to the store for new flower lights I will also go ahead and pick up 6-8 new 5 gallon buckets and some fox farm line products to start a couple of new strains. Haven't decided which ones yet but I have these to my disposal.
Og Kush #18, Headband, Sour Kush, Sharks breath, Cole train, Wappa, Sensi Star, Warlock, Rocklock, Sour Cream, Blue venom, Chronic and Motavation.
I am going to grow at least 2 each of the OG#18 and Headband in 5 gallons. I will be using 1000watt aircooled HPS tubes for flowering.

The cole train plant I have, unfortunately is sitting in some cheaper soil, and I think I over watered it last week. One or two of the top leaves are curling inwards (look at picture). Is that due to overfeeding or too much heat? The room stays around 78-81 and the humidity at around 40%. I have a humidifier I can add and also another cooling fan if necessary. Any suggestions?

Thank you all and happy growing! :blsmoke:IMG_2881.JPGIMG_2876.JPGIMG_2875.JPGIMG_2877.JPGIMG_2879.JPGIMG_2882.JPGIMG_2885.JPGIMG_2890.JPGIMG_2891.JPG

i would try to increase the humidity to at least 50%, and I like to keep my temps no higher than 80. so I don't think it is heat unless it was too close to the light, but I assume you are using those cfl and not using that 1000w so you can rule that out. The only other thing I would say is that you over watered it(didn't let the soil dry out enuff) or the water had too many nutrients in it. Some strains arent as happy with as many nutrients as others and it could just be giving you that signal. Sounds like you already knew the deal, keep it up and happy growin.

Thank you for you reply,
Those are actually 100w HPS lights. Unfortunately that is what I am temporarily using as veg light. I picked up some fluorescent tonight and I will give those a try. They are being moved into a larger bedroom when it is time for flowering and at that point I will be using the 1000w HPS lights. I think it might be over watering because I did water once or twice when it did not dry out completely. Not too much nutes as I have barely used any. The Cole Train could very well have been too close to the light, I moved it away some and well see if that helps. I will add the humidifier and bring up the % to about 50 and see how that goes. Thanks for your advice!

do you think i could get the same results with 2 or 3 42w CFL's in a grow box. not hydroponic either.
I've honestly never worked with CFL's doobydoobydoo so I do not want to put my 2 cents in where they don't belong. Maybe someone else would be kind enough to answer that one?
I am sure if they are any good at all you will easily achieve my results!

I got the humidity up to 50%, temp still around 80 and 70ish at night. Not too good of ventilation in that room. New growth on the cole train looks a little better. I'm gonna see how it goes with the humidity up and lay off the watering for a while.

On another note I saw the bubblelicious starting to sprout today, still nothing from the OG#18 or Headband yet. The hydroponic system is ready to go, new tubing was cut, reservoir cleaned from top to bottom, air and water pump cleaned, air stone as much as I could and I'm going clean the hydroton rocks today. Hopefully they will be in that system in a couple of days under these fluorescent lights I went and got.

Ok I need a little bit of help. I installed the fluorescent lights for the hydroponic system. As of now I hung them really close to the system as I am putting my rock wool cubes in there as soon as they sprout. I monitored the temperature for a while and it seems way too high for me.. 85 is what it stayed around. Are the lights too close? Or is this good for the very first part of the little sprouts life? I also moved the 2 HPS lights a little further away with the soil plants.

85 is ok, its a weed it can take it. I have mine growing outside till i can afford a 400w hps/mh combo, and the temp here yesterday was about 91 at its highest. There doing great check em out. The best way to tell if your lights are to close is to put your hand under em. If its to hot for your hand then its to hot for your plants. Also I would reccomend adding another fan to increase airflow. good luck man those are gonna be some tasty ladies.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah I do need to add some airflow.. I do not have much of a ventilation system going at all, since both rooms are together I can keep that door open most the time and get some circulation like that but it's not going to hold up in the long run. I will probably put a big fan on the other side of the hydrobox and see if it helps. The bubblelicious has sprouted, and I noticed the Headband peeking out the rock wool today!!

Ok so I woke up this morning to this weird buzzing sound. Walk in to check on the ladies and one of the lights is making a weird loud buzzing sound. Almost like you can hear the electrical current.. Anyone know what that could be?
The Headband, OG #18 and bubblelicious all sprouted! 100% Germ rate from 2 orders from the attitude.. Give em a thumbs up so far!

Nevermind, Took care of the buzzing noise. Took the light apart, tighten all bolts and screws and put a new bulb in. I am off to the store to grab some more Fox Farm Soil and nutrients

Quick update: I wanted to go ahead and transplant the Chem Dawg plant I had into a 5 gallon bucket, so I took a trip to the local nursery. I went and picked up a couple big bags of Fox Farm's ocean forest soil and also a bottle of Fox Farm's Grow Big liquid. They didn't carry the Big Bloom for some reason. The guy at the nursery gave me some free 5 gallon pots. I transplanted the Chem Dawg into a 5 gallon pot and gave it a dose of Grow Big. I also went ahead and planted 2 more OG Kush #18 into 5 gallon pots and 1 Headband. Oh and while I was at the store getting some dog food I saw a 150W CFL bulb that claimed 2700 Lumen so I got a couple of them. I had someone ask me the other day if CFL lights would make his plants look like mine, I had no idea so picked someone up to experiment on some plants. Maybe I will plant another Sharksbreath and veg it with CFL's.. We'll see. Thank you all and happy growing

Finally someone is having some sucess with cole train. I had 2 seeds and the first one never cracked. Started the second a few days ago and it's starting to poke up today. Look forward to see how yours turns out. Seems like every thread I read, they either didn't crack or died shortly after. Good luck.

Ok quick update: headband og#18 and bubblelicious are all sprouted and already have roots coming out of the bottom of the rock wool. I would transplant them into the hydro system tonight but I am way too tired. The Chem Dawg survived its transplant nicely and has established roots. I planted another og#18, headband and a blue venom in 5 gallon buckets yesterday. On a side note, I am somewhat interested in this CFL growing I read about. I was thinking about getting 6 high watt CFL bulbs and flower 2 or 3 plants with them.. For experiment.. The growroom right now looks like a bomb went off in it. There are plants in various stages everywhere and different systems and accessories scattered everywhere.. But that's how my rooms usually look right before they go into heavy production :) Soon everything will be hauled out into the spare bedroom and the master room will be turned into a flower room with 2 separated areas. Keeping the closet as a veg room, the closet is 8x3ft and should do. If not, I have another bedroom that will get turned into a veg room. I have started my shopping list for Europe as we are moving back there in about a year. We are getting a 5 bedroom house where 3 of the bedrooms will be turned into 2 flower rooms and a veg/mother room. That project have been planned out in every small detail and the shopping lists are coming together nicely. The past couple of years I have been sampling strains and have a fairly good idea of what my army of mother plants will consist of! Anyways, time to smoke a blunt of sweet island skunk and finish the last season of Lost!! I will update with pictures once the hydro system is completely up and running with the 3 new plants and the new soil plants have taken their place under the new lights. thank you all and happy growing
