1st Grow, LOTS OF PICS, need some feedback

I planted my plants on the 4th of July, i thought it would be a great way to celebrate my Independence. I started by planting 24 seeds in a Jiffy Windowsill greenhouse with expandable peat pods. i placed the greenhouse on my back porch in the heat but out of direct sunlight like the directions said to do on the greenhouse box. I was not sure of the quality of seeds i was using and wether or not they would sprout because they were just the seeds i had left over from sacks laying around the house. But after about a week and a half i had 13 seedlings. i lost 4 of them very early, ( two to bugs, one to god knows what, and one to a drunk guy nocking it over.) i took the remaining 9 and transplanted the peat pods into 100% peat free organic pots. These pots allow the roots to grow through the pot, this way i will know as soon as i need to transplant and since they are smaller it conserves room in the grow room. space is an issue for me because i need to be able to keep all 9 in the grow room long enough to tell if they are male or female so i can keep 4 of the females, provided i get that many out of 9. (BTW what are my odds on that?)
after transplanting them i left them outside for about a week to let them get strong. after that i brought them inside and placed them under one 24 inch florescent grow light increasing the amount of light i was giving them by an hour every day so not to shock them. I slowly brought them up from the 14 hours of sunlight they were getting outside to 20 hours of florescent light. the light is on them from 4am to 12 midnight.
The plants were looking good but i knew they needed more light so after they spent about a week and a half under only one light i added an additional 24 inch florescent light. both of these lights are 75 watt bulbs only using 17 watts of energy. (is this ideal or what? money is tight right now so I'm working with what i can.) i plan to get a 400 watt HPS bulb for the flowering stage (is this ideal for 4 plants? to much? not enough?)
The plants are almost a month old now (from the time the sprouted) and they range from 4 to 6 inches tall. some have 7 sets of leaves some only 4. i know they will probably grow at different rates because they are all different seeds and they are all using energy for different things. but i have arranged them so that the canopy is level and all the plats are about 5 inches away from the light. i fertilize them once a week with Miracle Grow Tomato Plant food 18-18-21, this was the closest i could find to 20-20-20 at Lows. i plan to find a different fertilizer for the flowering process something as close to 10-30-10 as i can find.
I water the plants once a day with about a shot glass worth of water. (is this enough or to much) and mist them about twice a day with a water bottle.
like i said i think i am doing a fine job but its always good to get another growers advise and comments. please leave me some feedback and ask any questions you would like, i would be happy to answer, pictures are attached.
THANKS AND KEEP GROWIN!!!

looks good man. you probably won't get 4 females out of the bunch but you never know! might end up with 6 if you're lucky. looks like you have everything under control though.

hey dude, all is looking good. whilst they're young though... a few things i had problems with and you could avoid:

- make sure you pH your feed to about 6
- better to overwater than underwater

other than that, all looks sweet. and i reckon 400W HPS will be perfect. hot though, so make sure you have some good fans/ventilation.

good luck, happy growing :peace:

Really. tell me what you know about this strand. I really have no idea what strain they are because they were just seeds from random bags. so some of them might be different. but i didnt take pics of all of them. ill upload some more pics of the others but anything you can tell me about what you know i would really appreciate it.

that is what i have heard also, but i have been very careful with the water.. giving them little amounts at a time and keeping a close watch on the color of there leaves. Today i decided to skip a watering in hopes that they would make a stretch. its early to tell but tomorrow i will be able to tell if they did.
