started from bagseed, xfered to an outdoor raised bed in late june, used MG 20-20-20 fert until flowering, switched to MG bloom booster over a month ago. included 2 tblespoons per gallon of molasses (i understand its mainly for organic grows) PH of tap water has been 7, while soil testing with a stick tester has shown ranges form 5.5 to almost 8. no real problems with the excpetion of buds being in flower for a LOOONG time, and density leaves something to be desired. im located in south carolina just 10 miles from the beach

what tips do you all have for maximizing this plant? roughly 1 month till harvest?

for the winter i will have purchased an indoor soil setup. found a wonderful specialty garden store in charleston.

You could try cleaning the bottom 1/3rd of your plant. That would promote super croping with main colas from1-5 oz

this would be the 8th week of flowering. and im located in south carolina, near the Georgia border. i will try trimming some of the bottom of the plant. there r a couple sets of fan leaves that the plant is eating up for xtra energy. what about some of the small bud sites? r they so underdevelopd would it even be worth it to let em grow?

Sounds like a case of mixed metaphors here- "cleaning the bottom 1/3 of your plant" (lolipopping) is a SOG technique used to promote maximum growth at the top cola by removing all lateral growth- a big bud on a stick.

"That would promote super croping with main colas from1-5 oz"

Super cropping is another technique involving intentionally damaging the stem(s) by squeezing them until you crush the interior vascular structure of the stem, thereby promoting more auxins at the damaged area. This also promotes more lateral growth, and more budding sites. It also can elongate the veg time needed .

seems to me these two statements are mutually exclusive..

Not tryin to slam you, deeznuts, but had to clear this up :bigjoint:

i'm gunna suggest feeding your plant with 1/4 strength mg bloom booster everyday for 1-2 more weeks and then switch over to something like groteks monster bloom(0-50-30) 1/4 strength every day till you decide to flush.

your plant is looking good, add some potash and worm castings, and go to the beach and pick up some kelp and make you're own tea!

Not to hijack, but I've also got pretty thin buds on a plant that's about 5 weeks into flower. I know they pack on weight toward the end, but if I were to remove the side branching leaves on the lower third of the plants, that could actually increase the size of the top cola?

Pls. confirm, b/c if so I'll give it a shot!

woot, thank you for the tips. the wealth of info found on this site and thru its members is amazing. i have also noticed on a couple of the fan leaves have some white spotting. i dble checked to make sure it wasnt a powder comign from the bud sites but rather either a fungus actually growing on the fan leaves or maybe just bleaching. every morning when i go to check it the entire plant is wet from early AM humidty or dew, i shake the plant gently till it stops dripping water. i will make a trip to GreenSpirit Hydrogardens, a store 1 hr north of me to get my indoor setup for the winter. nothing too big, just enough to have 1/4lb every couple months.

aside from enjoying the fruits of my labor, i have developed a real passion for horticulture. thank you all again for all the great info on the site and helping a newcomer learn the ropes
