Decided to make a thread now and try to post updates and keep a log of my grow before it gets any more developed. Equiptment listed below is what I use but feel free to ask questions if anyone wants to know more. I have only germinated 3 of the 4 strains I recieved as I wanted to keep the Royal Domina until I have more experiance it was my special pick @ 20% thc so I germed one of each auto and one fem. I only have one light for now however as things progress if the light needs upping I will purchase a second SF1000. My EC meter does not work right now so monday/tuesday I will pop out and swap it for a working one, although I am a newbie grower I beluive EC is just as important as PH, why PH to a level the plants can work with only to not know how much food you are actually giving them etc.
Nutes: Canna Coco full product line.
Medium: Canna Coco Pro+ with Perlite mixed in around 20-30%.
Light: Spider Farmer SF1000.
Tent: Bud Box Lite, 80 x 80 x 160.
SeedBank + Seeds: Royal Queen Seeds, RQS Northern Lights Auto 3 pack, RQS QuickOne Auto 3 pack, RQS Special Kush #1 Fem Photo 5 pack, RQS Royal Domina Fem Photo 3 pack.
I have plenty of ventilation provided by various computer fans hooked up to an arduino, I have a couple 200mm fans for intake and exhaust and various 120mm fans that can be used around the tent either on the light to cool the aluminium and driver or placed near the plants to push air across them. Seems to have plenty of umph and miles quiter than tower fans or box fans etc.
17/6/20: One of each seed placed in paper towels to germinate spritzed with plain boiled off water left too cool and ph'ed to 5.8. Left in a sandwich tub lid on sat on top of my SkyQ Box plenty warmth but not too hot.
19/6/20: All 3 showing tap roots at least 10mm each so planted them in their first little pots of coco at around 4pm. The coco was sprayed with a 1/4 strength mix of Rhizotonic and nothing else again ph'ed down to 5.8, I lightly misted the coco until I saw some run off wich seemed plenty moist and then placed the seeds in a small hole made with a pencil/pen.
20/6/20: First full day in pots under the light, I have dropped the light down to 6 inches and run it dimmed at 20% load wich is around 18k lux on the coco surface. Once all three sprout green above the coco I will raise the light up and start upping the light intensity for full veg efforts. The only feed they are getting is a small amount of the 1/4 strength Rhizotonic I made up and some 1/4 strength A + B again all this is ph'ed down to 5.8. I mainly feed Rhizo to keep damp but once per day they get a feed of 1/4 A + B to help supplement the rapid root growth.
21/6/20: Quick One has popped above the coco surface some point overnight standing around 20mm tall now looking good and healthy was a nice thing to wake up to this morning. Still waiting for Northern Lights and Special Kush to also pop, I did notice with Special Kush that the tap root was rather long and seemed to have gone a bit rollercoaster sideways in the coco but it was plenty white and looked plenty healthy so I sprinkled a small ammount of coco over the root to shield from light and damped down with the Rhizo spray. A few hours in and it still seems fine no popping up yet but doesnt seem like it was dying I wasnt expecting the Fem Photo to be so fast hwoever next time I germ Special Kush I will probably plant it in coco very early on in the germ stage as this seed had the largest tap root out of them all!
I will post updates as much as possible I am fortunate enough to work from home so I can tend to these babs 24/7 without any worries, some updates will be very simple updates stating no change but continuation of watering or change to feed strengths etc. And again all input and questions are welcome but keep it clean, sincere and sensible! Happy Growing.
