1st Hydro DWC Grow Journal, Bagseed

Hi all, thought Id post my progress here for critique and advise. This is my first serious grow, using bagseed to test my abilities and then going with a proper strain next. Currently my plants are 4 weeks from transplant, 3 days into 12/12. Using the Canna line for everything except the [expensive] boost. Instead I will be using Head Masta, about which I hear good things. Plants are still taking veg nutes so as not to waste the current solutions. I use PPM/EC meter to conserve nutes, and only flush completely every 2-3 weeks. I keep PPM 700 or under since genetics are a mystery. For lights I used only a 360w full spectrum LED setup with 4 supplemental 36w T5 bulbs placed vertically to penetrate the middle canopy for the veg phase, with amazing results. Since shifting to 12/12, I used a 400w HPS for a few days and have now decided to run both the LED and HPS together. Temps are kept mid 70s and humidity is usually between 50% and 60%.

Would anybody do anything differently than what I have running right now? Ill post some photos in chronological order for the reference.

hi there mate nice one on getting into the growing game on my first dwc too although have been growing for a bit now in soil your plants look nice and healthy...when you go into flower de leaf the bud sites a bit to let the light get on them..i am using canna aqua nutrients too also not using the boost which is a piss take on price...have got a booster called gunpowder which comes recommended from my local hydro store...
dont know how much you know about topping supercropping and defoliation your plants so am going to pt some links in for your consideration my friend...check out my youtube channel mate and ill follow you from here on in any help i can offer feel free to ask happy growing mate.

sounds like your doing fine mate your plants look really healthy start looking at training techniques next but to date good job...

Okay, so Im dropping an update. USPS screwed up and lost a package that was to be delivered to me on the 15th, 5 days ago. After much deliberation, phone calling, and a few trips to the local post office, I concluded yesterday that, well, fuck those guys. I figured I probably wasnt getting it, so I had a refund issued to me. Problem was, my Canna PK 13/14 was in that box, and I really needed it. For a few days all my plants had were Aqua Flores A and B and some Head Masta. Things moved slowly, so I headed out to my local shop to find something comparable to Canna's PK. I was recommended Liquid KoolBloom from general hydroponics. It was the most "substitutable" product they had at the time, he told me. Canna's got 13 and 14 for PK but this GH has 10 and 10. I would like to hear some thoughts on using the KoolBloom as a substitute.

As for the plants, both are showing female! Was wondering what the likelihood is that they will hermie, since I picked them both from bagseed. Opinions on that? I will trim more fan leaves away soon. Added recently are the sun system hood and insulated ducting, which is REMARKABLY more quiet than regular ducting. The cooled reflector is working wonders too. Im running fan inside the tent, through the reflector, and out through the filter.

Thanks brother! Just gave them a trim, and about to top off buckets with nutes and PH'ed water. Filled an entire bucket with fan leaves and tiny colas, how heartbreaking... But its all for the buds right?

Im intentionally leaving some smaller colas down below in case I like my bagseed strain so much i want a mother. Im not sure yet if Ill harvest them completely or throw them back into veg when im done.

I have also decided to name them Lucy and Ethel. Because I am a stoner and I do things like that.

Can somebody check my exhaust setup? the fan is pulling from the top of the tent, running through the light and then out through my filter. room temp is 75 but tent temp is 85, I have the sensor near the base of one of the plants too. I have intake open on the bottom of both left and right sides.

What gives?

Quick update for whoever gives a shit i suppose..

Despite higher temps than i would like, things seem to be coming along nicely. left plant is not as far along, but it takes up more nutes than the right. About 500ppm more per week. oh well, chalk it up to the bagseed i guess.

Much of the foliage has already grown back, and i really want to trim a few more leaves but i know i shouldnt do that in flowering.

your plants are looking real healthy mate good job...im five weeks into flower now and my ec is about 2.6 keep posting mate and ill keep watching bud....
