1st post as well as 1st grow

Hey everyone, this is my first grow and was hoping you guys could give me your opinion on my medicine. Its 7 Dwarfs Trojan which is an auto flower strain in soil. The lighting was all CFL, I'm an electricion so I rigged up a neat light system out of some stuff laying around the shop. I know HID is the way to go but I didn't want to invest in an air system to cool them so I stuck with the CFLs. Now my question is... does she look ready for harvest?? The trichomes are about 50/50 milky and clear, I don't want amber trichs, as it is an indica dominant strain. I just feel she could bulk up a bit more but they seem too have just stopped. I planned to harvest over the weekend. Any input would be much appreciated. And I am new so if this post is in the wrong section I apologize.

If it were me I would wait until you have around 70% milky trichs, even if it did include a few ambers, and it will. Your call though, that's just me. For being a indica dominate strain, looks like she definitely inherited a nice sativa growth structure. Either way enjoy your smoke !

btw Welcome to the family !! :leaf:

Its a little hard to tell but I would let them go a little longer.
I'd say wait until you start to see your first amber trichs.
Like maybe 3% on the plant. Then chop.
That should give you what you want

just make sure she is all swollen and the pistols are turning brown and retracting also. you dont want to harvest with white hairs everywhere.

That was my main concern, it seems as if the trichomes are developing faster then the actual bud. I know a good percentage of the hairs should turn orange right?

Those white hairs have a lot of receding to do...I'd say the trichs will slow production and the plant will swell and hairs recede over the next 3 weeks...it will all come together soon

Yea it seems I should hold off on harvest for a bit, oh well. You get so anxious to harvest you tell yourself it will be OK. I'm just going to wait it out. All in all id say it was a pretty good first grow.

You got the goods just don't ruin it by being too anxious. If you can spare it, take a little nug and give it a taste test and of course the best thing is a scope for the trichs ...if it's in the budget that is.
I'm thinking if you can wait another week or two you'll be golden {amber ;)}, this is your rodeo so you decide when it's time to pull up the tents.
That's going to be some sweet smoke, well done!

Thanks mojo, its kind of like waiting for Christmas with this lol. I'm glad I started with an autoflower as it allowed me to witness first hand the entire process with little effort put in. Now I think I will move to a non auto and learn some different grow techniques and whatnot. I'm leaning toward SCROG to maximize the yield in my small closet setup. I think I found a new hobby!!

A hobby that will turn into an obsession if one isn't careful lol.

You're at the right place to learn those other techniques imo, keep us informed with up to date pics, lets us know how it turns out and puff puff pass.
