So I've found one more male so far bringing the total up to 8.5....there's one sorta male I'll hang on to until I'm 100% sure.

I've got 8 confirmed females and 3 undecided included the biggest one that I'm assuming is the large phenotype. God this thing grows fast!

If I'm lucky at least the large pheno will turn female

The best male is in the window just waiting to drop some pollen

I woulda liked more than 8 obviously, but as long as they're all heavy yielders I can't complain.

I'm quite hopeful that at least one of the 3 undecideds will be female.

out of the 3 undecideds from the other day 2 have become female for a total of 10 girls.

The one hugest one remains undecided but I'm quite hopeful for a girl since males are supposed to show sex early. Even if I only end up with the 10 I have now I'll be quite happy providing I can get an ounce or so per plant.

Yeah, I had some of the large phenotypes. If the breeder could stabilize that phenotype, they definately have a winner. I got 52 grams off of the large one! No BS either.

Looking good, I am growing a auto 47 myself still in early age but is already starting to smell in veg state...

I can't wait to see how yours turns out, people keep saying they are getting 1-3 ounces out of these guys.

Just as the breeder said. The males started appearing around day 16/17 and females a few days after that.

just a quick update

My hygrometer/thermometer arrived finally, yay. Oh, and I finally got a tower fan in the corner for circulation.

Everything seems to be doing alright as far as I can tell, but feel free to disagree. All input is welcome

maybe I should even vacuum the inside...it is a bit dirty

I just started a Auto grow, I have 7 Lowryder x AK47 (fems), two are 18 days old and 5 are popping out now, 9 Lowlife Blueberry (reg) they are popping out now as well. I'm think I'm gonna try hydro, they are in one inch rockwool cubes now. I have a 4'8 x 4'8 grow tent and going to get a 1k digital also next week.
I'm subscribed, will start a journal also when I take pics tomorow, I'll let you know how it goes.

now that I have only 11 females and I see how much empty space there is in my tent I kinda wish I ordered either some feminized auto's or another pack of 10 regulars. I guess it would have been way more $, but the confidence might be worth it. Will definitely be considering fems in the future.

Why'd you go with autoflowering for a grow tent?

(and I wish I could get my cat to take an interest in my current grow. She just doesn't give a shit)

I went with them for a few reasons. I had actually ordered some white rhino seeds from nirvana plus have access to basically how ever many kush clones I would like then reconsidered and got the autos.

#1) my apartment is hot as hell in the summer so I wanted something to be done before July
#2) my gf is not impressed with my 'hobby' so the fast finishing strain was a good compromise
#3) I was really intrigued by the autos...I think they're really fun and an interesting concept

looking back I realize that using a non auto strain would probably only take an extra couple weeks if at all. My buddy just did a 6 light grow of 75 plants with the kush strain and got 4 pounds and 9 ounces out of it. Plus I've got way more experience than he has so yeah...maybe I shoulda used them...oh well. I'm not having any regrets, so far these plants have been pretty fun.

I just keep the door closed all the time so my cat is always up for exploring the forbidden room the rare times I leave the door open.

Here's a few pics since it's been 3 days.

I have one of my nicest looking plant, one of the large phenotype which looks kinda skinny, and one of the smallest girl.

She looks to be about only 5 inches tall but I guess that's roughly half size for this strain, and I do have several weeks of flower left.

Nice grow man! You've got me intrigued now...I just found out about this "autoflowering" stuff a few months ago and I'm pissed that I spent so much time making a seperate flowering room and so much effrot into finally keeping the temps down and now I find out I don't need it hahah. Definitely subscribed to your grow and eargerly awaiting your final product (probably not as much as you are though! )

Don't dismiss that all as unnecessary work. These autos are fun and have advantages to be sure, but regular strains are still great. Everything in life has pros and cons...

I personally believe the real advantage in autos comes from the 1 ounce yield in a short time plus the stealth short height.... IF it can be achieved consistently.

As we all know time = money and therefore, the faster you have cured bud in your pipe, the better.

My buddies just did a commercial grow and ended up with over 4.5 lbs BUT let's look at the time it took them vs an auto strain...

started with clones which give multiple advantages

#1 guaranteed female
#2 start off already with good leaves and height...this saves time

they got roughly 1 oz per plant (just like the autos) but were able to cash in since they had 75+. They vegged for four weeks and flowered for 8 for a total of 12 weeks. The autos will take anywhere from 10-12 weeks to finish completely from seed but won't have the same female to male ratio obviously. It's all about the math

If they hadda used the auto ak47's they would've needed roughly 150 seedlings to end up with 75 females(since autos seem to have low ratios)

anyways, my point is I am totally interested in the auto flowering strains and think in time with further development they could really be exceptional especially if the total time from seed to smoke could be reduced without infringing on other aspects. BUT having two separate rooms is a tried and true method. Combine this with clones of a killer high yielding strain and you're ready to rock and roll perpetual harvest style.

Try the autos for sure, but don't think you wasted your time at all by building two rooms
