1st time clone question

ok, so this is my first attempt at cloning. i took rockwool cubes and soaked them in ph 5.5 water with a drop of superthrive for 24 hours ahead of time. i then took clones, 9 from my NL, and 3 from my unknown bagseed sativa. i have them under a hydrofarm humidity dome with 3 26 watt cool blue cfl's. i had the heating mat on for a bit, but it turned out to be too hot with it on. it is a little over 24 hours since taking the clones and they look rather droopy. i'm concerned that they may be past the point of being useful. should i just ditch theses and take more clones, or should i wait it out and see if they come back?

damn peeps are evil up in here, no responces. i think its the lighting, i been trying to find out how much light to put on my clones, and the more i search the less light they need until root formation. mine have a day with only minor lighting coming from window, very shaded and they havent even wilted, only misted 3 times in 24 hours and they are still good.

i would suggest remove some of the lighting, or if you gots more cuttings, test this out, and dont give up on these.

if you dont got another dome at least get a tray and do a 1/2 mix of perlite with verticulite and clone their same way you would with the cubes, im gonna try this next when my stuborn mothers produce more shoots.

Do u have to have a cloning dome to clone or can u us something else?

mine new batch are having the same issue- i have never cloned myself, always had a supply of rooted cuttings

temporariliy i have taken then inside out of the light. make sure they are not COMPLETELY humidified. but if the what crew on here say is true, aerocloners might be something to look into

looks overwatered to me, are the rockwool cubes sitting in water? Did you use rooting hormone?

here is what I do, and I have nearly 100% success rate. I cut up the mum to almost nothing when I take cuttings, i make my cuttings around 6-8 inches tall. Cut off the lower 1/3 branching and leaves, cut all the rest of the fan leaves in half, except what new growth there is. Once its been cut I scrape a lil bit of tissue off the cut end and dip it in rooting hormone. then I put it into my rockwool cube that has soaked in PH5.6 water. I have no dome, I use a 400 Watt MH light 20 inches above the clones, it runs 18/6. I place the cubes in holes cut out in a rubbermaid 10 gallon storage container, I have 48 holes in the top and about 5 gallons in the reservoir with 2 airstones and a pump. I will mist RO water on the plants once per day and I pump water and flood the cubes 1 time per day for 2 minutes and let it all drain back into the res. I have some superthrive in the res and some hydroguard. 2 weeks is usually the time when I see tap roots coming out of the bottom of the cubes. I take the best 18 and throw away the rest or let my buddy have some for his op. The mother grows so fast in DWC that it can create a good supply every 6 weeks. Every 3 grows I kill the mother and veg a clone in its spot.

I have been fighting with cloning for the last few weeks now with NO NOTICEABLE ROOTS and I cant figure out what the issue is. But as goblin mentioned I'm trying with vermiculite and perlite next.

But to answer your question- those look healthy enough to work on. I have had clones survive that looked MUCH worse than that. When they turn brown and crusty you know you need to move on .

Please keep us posted on your progress. I am in dire need of figuring this out also.

i'm very place with the water cloning method in the growfaq....maybe a lil slower, but with 100% success!!

Put an airstone in a shallow basin, fill with PH water. put cuttings in rockwool cubes, suspend cubes 1 inch over water, let that airstone bubble some water to the rockwool so that it stays moist. 2 weeks roots should be showin.
