Hello. Thought I'd introduce meself with a couple of pics and a question or two. Hello btw, very nice and good looking forum here.
Now I'm HOPELESS at gardening so to make things easy just got some autofem-autoflowering stuff to start out. Actually bought Taiga which I've since found out is a bad one for first time growers but got a couple of free seeds thrown in to.

Both of these were germinated and planted out at the same time.

I've only planted out 2. First one is a Burmese Kush which isn't a very big plant at all, only maybe 20 or so cm. It has flowered well. The question really is - are these looking like buds or like a hermi? And if it's good, how far off harvest does it look - is it about ready or should I leave it some more?

Here's the Taiga. A much bigger plant, more Sativa? I think. Probably around 50cm tall and I need to re-pot it. As yet not really flowering, though it should be. I think it's a female by the looks of it?? I've heard you have to force them to flower but I'm waiting to see if it does it naturally with the change of season - these are both out-door types.

Now the leaves - something going on with this one, I'm not sure if this is lack of nutrient or maybe too much/not enough water. As I say I'm going to re-pot as it's looking root-bound now.

I've been trying to get clues etc off utube etc but it seems so many of the people don't know how to set cameras up for close up and when they zoom in it all just blurrs and you can't see anything properly.

I've been feeding 2ce a week btw with a generic mix of vegatable and tomato food.

MTIA;-)

I can't answer if they're ready or not since I'm a new grower myself but it looks pretty tasty. All I can do is share this page that someone just shared with me to help identify deficiencies/problems with your plants. THIS IS THE LINK. I'm having issues and it's well worth the read.

Best of luck!

Thanx Dubbz0r

Hmm, from that if the leaves are yellowing maybe it's nitrogen it needs? I'm totally guessing though.

Or maybe potassium. I'm totally clueless LOL.

At a guess it's potatisum as these are autoflower and there's no true veg state?

Thx - should I just try with more food or with magnesium do I need to get a soil testing kit etc?
i take it its in compost or earth, do your repot and you can use epsom salts if you have no mag feed...........with a repot it should pick up.i reckon.

Thanks - I repotted last night, earth/compost is growbag stuff. I also gave it a feed with a tomato feed which contains magnesium.

First of all, I doubt very much if they are ready yet. TI cant see any swollen caylaxes, which is a better indicator of ripeness than brown hairs. Dont forget, a seeded plant will show brown hairs. The plant looks very healthy to me and the yellowing leaves look like they could be the lower, older fan leaves. If so, it is notmal for these to fall off towards the end of flowering. If anything, I see signs of nute burn on a couple of pics. The epsom salts wont hurt though so if you think it is a mag def (which it could be) ES are cheap and will solve the problem but not repair the damage. If any leaf is more than 50% damaged, remove it, the plant will waste good bud energy trying to repair it if you dont. Green mojo dude. W

Not ready. I would do a flush plants look good they do yellow and die near the end of flowering.
I would also make hash with your clippings.
Good luck.

Btw. Buy some good fert next time bet that is the problem.

OK. Thx - that's 2 different plants btw, the flowering one is the Kush. The other one is the Taiga which has no flowers at all yet, barely showing pistils, I tried to show that in the 3rd photo down from that one onwards it's the Taiga - that's the one with the yellowing leaves. etc. The Kush has some leaves going very mottled but I've read they are a nutrient hog.
What are good nutrients btw - plant food is plant food isn't it?

Look for GH, AN, Hesi, FF, etc. Go to the more advanced forums and look at setups and see what people are using for some ideas. Personally I'm using my GH Lucas forumla nutes in soil, just at low low strength. Works just fine if you aren't going 100% organic.

Rather than guess and risk adding the wrong stuff, go out and buy a chemical soil test kit for $5. It should have four small test vials, each with a colored pill. You take a sample of soil (preferably near the root zone), and see what your NPK and Ph levels are at. During veg I look for nitrogen and calcium deficiency, during flower its more common to see deficiencies in P, K, and Mg. The test won't be exact, but its good enough for the average person doing a soil grow.

Thanks for the advice - will do that. I know they're both technically in flower as they're autoflowering types so I'll look out for what you suggest.
