1st time grow - have I killed my girl?

The tallest one is a Mekong High. She was doing alright until I transplanted her from a one gallog smartpot a couple days ago, into the 5 gallon you see her in now. She was bone dry so when I put her in the new 5 gallon full of Foxfarm Ocean Forest, I added about a gallon of water into the bottom of the reservoir - not from the top. So I don't think I over-watered her (?) but no sure.

I added nuts for the second time only and at half strength, so I don't think I burned her. She was germed the first week of June and planted into soil June 8th, as were the rest of the plants you see, The second biggest one upper right is a Cannatonic, the lower right is a White Widow, and lower left is Orange Bud. I nearly killed the OB several times and she always comes back, but as you see the OB and WW are not growing very fast.

I hope someone has some ideas for me. My wife is bringing home another Ph test kit so I can't answer that just yet.

. . .
Personally she looks thirsty as heck
Yeah my thoughts also.
I had an aha! moment when I read this. When I transplanted her from the one gallon smartpot, I just sat the whole ball right on top of the new soil, so her roots are not yet long enough to reach the watered soil on the bottom. I'm going to do a top-down watering right now. I feel very stupid, but as long as she lives I can handle being stupid. Thanks guys.

I'm using a 400W MH, a 240w Blackstar LED with 3 watt Cree LED's, and 4 ALZO full spectrum 45W CFL 5500K 91 CRI grow lights. I only have a 3-sided tent so I wonder if that makes a big difference?

definetly thirsty! they do look stretched looks like you need your lights closer to your plants.I dont think a 3 sided tent would make any difference.should be fine just need more light

The MH & LED are about 12" from the mekong, further from the others although I have just put the others on top of upside-down containers to get then closer to the lights. The cfl's are beside for undergrowth and a few inches away. I move the cfl's daily.

How much more light do I need?

sorry to interrupt...but what was the determining factor for you saying she looks thirsty as heck? i would have said overwatered, and in need of a feeding...but i would have been wrong obviously.

Because i skipped watering for 5 days and i know when a plant is thirsty. Also he didnt mention anything about watering. Put the two together and voila.

Hm a foot. Ugh raise the plants some closer but not get burnt . They look a little lanky

ok...kind of vague, but it works...i was looking for more of a " well the stem was red" or something...some tell tale sign that it is underwatered instead of overwatered...just bein curious my man.

Lol read up gobskiii. You have much to learn

How i was vague idk... your just not expierenced enough. Overwater/underwater symptoms are droopy leaves. If it gets bad enough leaves will start falling off.

As long as your not keeping your soil soaked all the time its not overwatered. Also as long as your not keeping your soil bone dry for a week its not underwatered

lol...i am a newb no doubt, but if it were my girls i would have been able to tell you whether she was over or underwatered...he didnt even give you a watering schedule, so i was just curious as to how you came to that conclusion with so little info. he did say she was bone dry when he transplanted...thats about it. i didnt know if there was a subtle diff. in overwatered or underwatered plants...ive looked at tones of overwatered ones, and they looked identical to me.

Most people know that you dont water them everday. Thats considering you just have just a tad bit of knowledge about growing

So more than likely its underwatering. Basic gardening 101

yeah i think they look fine, just needed some water, but i think where you may of caused yourself a few complications was planting in the same bucket..causes the roots to compete for space and water
