1st tims grow couple questions

Hey guys my seeds are germintaing as we speak.. there autoflowers. My 1st question is should i soak the soil before planting? Ive read a couple places to do that..? If so do i completely soak the soil and how long before planting. My 2nd question is when the seeds are planted should i put plastic foil over the pot covering the seed in the soil? And last is it ok to use my 600 led light for the seedling stage ? If i keep it up high up in the tent.? Thanks guys

You don't need to cover seedlings with plastic wrap or domes, that can dampen them off. As far as using the 600W for seedlings, that is such a waste of power. Just use a couple CFL's or home LED's for the first few weeks.

Nah, all that extra stuff isn't necessary. Nature doesn't require foil to grow seeds LOL :)

When you see the tap root, after about a day of germinating, use some tweezers and gently place the seedling root down in the soil. About 1/2" deep and cover. I don't worry about pre-soaking the soil, or anything like that. After you plant the seed, just add some water to the soil. I like using a syringe to lightly water them when they're small, as they don't need much. Also, don't water so much that the container spills water run-off. I like to make the roots search for moisture. It promotes root growth.

Just think about nature. Nature's going to do most of the work by itself. You just need to set the stage :)

How many CFL bulbs for 6 seedlings and how high to keep the bulbs?
Depends on how big of a pot you intend on using. If you start them in Solo cups then two CFL's will cover six of them. I have a seedling chamber I built and it runs on two 9 Watt LED's. here are my plants at 12 days old.

If you going that big from the start, just watch for light bleaching. If you can try to dim the light and keep it a few feet away from your plants.
