1st tme grower 150w hps closet grow (CLUELESS)

I am going to start growing in my closet i need as much advice as i need i am growing in a cooler in my closet for now my seeds are currently in day 2 in the gwermination process so far i have a place to grow i have mircale grow soil an a 150 hps light i am clueless on what i am doing ive done my homework and got an idea on how to grow i have seeds that i orderd i dont want to attempt to grow them and mess it up what else would i need is co2 ness? I looking on grow 3 plants under the light any suggestions i would appriciate keep in mind its a small grow thanks

Hi mary jane...ok you got the basic, co2 is renouned to help plant growth, but as a new grower its something to think about later...how big is your grow area.? what are you going to use for extraction, as your 150w hps will put out a fair bit of heat.? what type of seeds do you have.? Autos or normal.? that ill do for a start..lol

my closet if about 8X4X8 that i havent thought about yet what can i use so thier wont be as much heat the seeds i got are from my local dealer i have no idea what kind of seeds

First things first. Set up your light in your closet exactly as you pictured and then measure your temperatures because if they are over 85 degrees you will wanna use C02. But for a beginner, I would go without C02 unless you have the extra $$$$ to spend. You may also want to look into using a different soil. Fox Farm works well, but there are many other alternatives people will attest to.

Also, with a lower wattage light, you will want to look into SCROG or LST to keep the plants shorter which will be more effective than growing 3-5 foot tall plants.

i looked into the scrog but i still dont get it i can buy the screen but how would i put it up? when should i put it up? and what does it do?

do some research here, you can find plenty of posts on extraction, but you have to find away of getting air moving around your closet, as for your seeds they are know as bag seeds,meaning they could be anything, not the greatest seed to start. just treat them as a normal grow veg until they reach a good height. when start veg you will need a timer set to 18 / 6.. then put them in to flower and set the timer to 12 / 12, for upto 10 weeks.
oh yeah and as you dont know the sex of your seeds your going to have to keep an eye on them for possable male plants, when should be removed asap....

Okay here is an update my seeds have germinated i planted the seed in miracle grow one of my seeds starting stem looks dry ive watered, left my window open for c02 the temp is currently at 73 degrees anyone know what the problem is im sorry i cant find my camera so i cant take and pics

could be all manner of things, plant would need to be seen..

My seeds are starting to show from the soil i can see a small stem

Okay so i am doing a 12/12 from seed just experimenting project, as far as nutes go its 12/12 so would i need to add any nutes? please help
