1st Tote bagseed grow.

Alright, so I have been lurking on here for a while but I believe this is my first actual post.

This will be my 2nd grow but it is the first time I have had to deal with space issues as I recently moved. I welcome any advice, recommendations, etc (just don't be a jerk is all I ask).

Right now the setup is as follows:
►The tote is 20"x30"x20", flat white painted interior, vent fan in the side and exhaust hole in the top.
►Containers: As of now I have 20 plants all in 18oz cups. As sex begins to show I plan to remove the males and then decide on what size to move to, space permitting.
►Light: Currently running 2 54w T5 HO, 6000k color, 10,000 lumen total. I have 2 identical bulbs for that fixture in 3500k. I also have 2 65w CFLs in 3200k and 6500k to place by the base of the plants once they are a little larger. Currently on 18/6 (seeds popped a couple days ago). Within the week I plan to go to 12/12.
►Soil: There are really no places to get optimum pre-mixed soil around here without driving for a few hours round trip so I am using MG Organic as it is cost effective, readily available, and seems to do a decent job.
►Temp/Humidity: Temp ranges from 74F-84F (min/max) and Humidity ranges from 32%-46%
►Nutes: None yet. I'll update this once I decide on what I want to use.

I will post pics within the next week. Wish me luck.

So about 9 days in now. Some popped sooner than others but I suppose I can't do much about that now.

I changed out one of the 54w 3000k floros with a 6400k one. So now there is one of each. I also went to 12/12

They seem to be doing pretty well. I put about an inch of soil with nutes in the bottoms of cup originally and it seems to have cause a couple minor burns. I flushed a little bit and it seems to have helped.

Here are a few pics.

The box they are in:
There is a hole in the side for a fan. Also it is usually covered by two layers of blackout fabric with a vent tube leaving that from the top of the box.

And the one that seems to be doing the best as of yet:

Things are starting to speed up a bit now. Considerable increases in a few days.

Also another pic of the largest one, but I think it is going to be over taken shortly.

So most of them have shown sex at this point and I have weeded out the males and given a couple females to friends as early xmas presents.
Today was a disappointing loss as this one finally came out as male:

On a positive note though, this one that is super dense and smells the worst of them all is definitely a female so hopefully I can get a few cuttings from it:

Everyone else is doing pretty well. Most are transplanted into 96oz containers at this point. I plan to keep the SOLO cups alive in case some others turn out to be male or herm on me.

I also made a DIY scrubber for the room Using vent filters sewn together with activated carbon in the centers and stuffed them into a vent boot with some ducting leading to a 285CFM fan. Turned it on and the smell was gone within about a minute.

Also, the 2 68w CFLs there are 6000k and 3200k. They are being used in addition to the 2 54w 2800k tubes in the reflector not pictured in the previous post.

They are really just random seeds from random bags collected over time so I can't really answer the first one.
The reason for flowering so soon is I don't want to use containers larger than what they are in now and I have some pretty rigid space limitations. Right now there is a total of 244 watts of CFL on them right now.. I don't expect a great or poor yield. I really haven't even speculated what it might be. I'm not too concerned as this is more just a hobby to keep me busy. Hopefully the space issues will be taken care of in January and I can have a full sized grow.

Well.. Gave up on containing them in the tote any longer. So they are out and I changed up the lighting set up by putting the two 68w CFLs in the middle of the plants, the 108w t5 hood is still on top with the addition of a couple 23w 1750 lumen CFLs in reflectors on the sides.

On another note, between working so much around the holiday, people being in from out of town, my grandfather in the hospital, and being away from home longer than I had planned, the girls definitely drank faster than I thought. I came back to moisture stressed plants. They are starting to bounce back after the first watering. I will have to check on them tomorrow and hope for the best though. Other than that, things seem to be going fine for 96oz containers flowered quite soon. There is one still in a 20oz party cup that I have been clipping the lower bud sites off of.. doesn't seem terribly happy, but it's surviving. I was going to start on higher K nutes when I returned but will hold off a bit based on this.

Light setup change.

One of the 96oz tops.

And the only 20oz cup that is left. The other fems were actually given out to friends slightly prior to Xmas as presents. Everyone loved it who got one. One went to my sister, another to a mycologist friend, and the other to one of my closest friends.

MG Organic is 10-5-5. I needed to add nutes fairly quickly after transferring from the cups to the 96oz containers. Maybe 1.5-2 weeks afterwards. Bottom leaves started to show that they wanted more N. After that they were fine. Some leaves recovered, the ones that didn't I just chopped and it hasn't happened since.
I am kind of surprised with the buds coming in for the size of the pots and the lighting situation. Hopefully I'll see some speed pick up with having 136watts of CFL in the center now.. much closer to those lower leaves than all the light up top.
Thanks :)

Started bloom nutes last monday. Feeding once a week. Buds are coming in nicely. They are all pretty dense.
Pic 1: Same set up
Pic 2: One of the tops
Pic 3: One of the two Solo cups still going. This is the only one that is changing color at all.
Pic 4 & 5: Random tops.

Well, they are still alive. Suffered through neglect from the holidays and my work sched, a move, temp stress, moisture stress, light stress. Bunch of problematic herms. May let it ride out. If they are done before I get my new tent and light then fine, if not then i am going to trash them. Although there is one super stout one with vigorous undergrowth and fantastic node spacing. I may try to clone it and revert it to veg. A very slow flowerer though.

last night i chopped them. premature, but i would rather get rid of them and have this place clean before starting a real grow in about a week and a half. on the upside, the trim and about 5g of popcorn buds made some killer cannabutter after a bit in the oven.
