just to be safe id keep them 2.5 - 3" away from your plants, put the back of your hand to the light... if you think its too warm for your plant then put it a bit further away

sad to hear it died.

i think germing seeds needs moisture, and some warm temps.. not sure about the light. ive always had sunshine hit the paper towel tho.

yeah the dead guys will get a proper burial (thrown into the yard)

two seeds, one's cracked open, one hasnt... we shall see!

well ive done both, doesnt really seem to matter, theyve sprouted anyway,
