i have a smallish closet just wondering if u guys think 2 4o watt lamps would do the trick ones cool white and ones daylight. im not after anything fancy its my first grow .

Yea, it'd work suggest selling the reparations to buy some better equipment, though. Even if you're growing for yourself I'd suggest at least a dual 200~600w Ballast with an MH and HPS bulb, MH for veg, HPS for the de facto. Sorry if it seems like I'm chastising you, just a suggestion.

Are you using CFL's or incandecents? If your using incandecents STOP! At least get CFL's...

yeah there fluro's , didnt know u could get incandesent bulbs in cool white , but im new to this , just wondering with the cool white lights can they vary in colour are all cool whites the same ? i heard i need a blue coolwhite for vegging mine doesnt look very blue .

Depends onthe Kelvins. The plant aquarium spectrum is what i use to veg.
