K I don't have a way to post pics yet but plan to on Monday. I have 1 blackjack plant. My fist ever grow. It is current headed to it's 3rd week of veg and it's 2.5 inches tall but has 7 nodes. Is this normal for a short strain? How could I encourage a lil more height?

I am using a 400w mh light as of yesterday. Before I was using a 300w equiv cfl 2700k :( (I understand I needed 6500k for veg sadly I didn't know this till last week and now the mh is on. Thanks for your help.

The light is about 2 ft away. The cfl was about 4 inches.

I'm happy that it seems relatively normal for BJ to be that short. I was hoping to flower in about two weeks my only concern is I'd like to get as much bud from this lady as I can as quick as I can. How long should I veg if I'm hoping to get around 1.5 O? Thanks! + rep for the help!

7 O's a plant would be amazing but somehow I don't quite believe that.

This brings up the question. What nutes are good for vegging? I'm using general hydo maxigrow 10-5-14 and floricious plus 2-.8-.02

awesome plant Review by Joshua i have never smoked bubblegum before and had to try it. so far my plants are only about 2 and half weeks old but are taking off briliantly . for shits and giggles i had to pick 1 leaf and smoke it. it was fantastic got a real good very enjoyable high and it was starting to get a nice sweet bubblegum taste. I cant wait to harvest its going to be an unforgetable summer thanks you have a customer for life (Posted on 5/25/10)

i guess you shouldnt give much credit to the reviews on that site. this wasnt the only weird one either.

This sounds like a very compact plant. To maximize the yield, veg until half of the available space is used up in the grow location. This plant will double or less in the flowering stage with tight nodes like this. The longer you veg the more yield you get at harvest. At flowering you need to switch to a fertilizer with a high phosphorous and low nitrogen content to get the best flower production. Any brand of flowering fertilizer will work, it doesn't have to have fancy names like "Composted Coyote Cum or Bodacious Sasquatch Scat" to be a complete and balanced fertilizer for flowering. Choose a fertilizer that advertises the formula as a bloom fertilizer and follow the directions for feeding according to the label. I always start with a reduced rate and work up to maximun rates to see if the plant can tolerate the upper recommendations.

You will still be able to flower.. depending on your strain it can take several weeks for flowering to start which in that process the plants still do continue to grow.. it all depend on how much space you have, i experienced the same thing tight nodes all the way once i moved my light to about 3-4ft.. now they have stretched too big.. but the point is you can still turn to flower and set your lighting a little higher, your standard household cfl dont really have to be moved.. hope it helps

metal halides light induces root and stem growth, theyll be fine you were just running the wrong type of light. I made the same mistake. It will recover its a short strain anyways
