Its official (for a few years now my bad) but if you didn't already know like me, archaeologists excavated a tomb in the North Western part of China that once homed the people of the Gushi culture. They found 789g dried cannabis. Whats unique is that at the time of burial the highest cannabinol concentration in the weed was delta 9 THC, which over time degraded to CBN (i think i got all that technical lingo right). So these people cultivated weed to get high, not for hemp or food, although they could have still used hemp, there was no items made of hemp in the grave.

and I immediately thought "damn id love to get my hadns on those seeds" but they tried germinating a load of them but they failed to germ in compost in 21 days. I think i could get them to germ lol.....imagine gettin those genetics, 2,700 year old weed *dribbles down top*

paper towel method dumb ass scientists had to take it a step too far, like oh if we stick them in this hot ass fertilizer after 2700 years they should grow right?

yeah man i would let them soak in constantly warm water for about 5 hours (i dunno like 28oC or something) then into the paper towels method in a clipfast box on a heating mat.....that would be the best i could do :o i dont think youd be gettin a refund either lol

but to be truely honest, i know they tissue cultured them, the genetics where not lost they probably just dont want that info out there.:/

Wait a minute, any of the wild strains and land races are more than 2700 years old, they must be millions of years old, producing and reproducing over and over again.

apparantly it wasn't a wild strain though, they said that the seed size and other things were typical of human cultivation as opposed to traits of wild weed. So these people, or this guy maybe, were breeding weed for traits they liked, so its likely that the flavour would be unique. Would just be interesting to know what it tasted of exactly and what kinda high it gave, but alas, i dont think ill ever be toking on any unless i got digging with a bucket n spade happen upon another bowl of bud and seeds lol

While yes it would be interesting and potentially dank herb to grow, none of us could have sprouted those seeds. Even if stored in a perpetually frozen area to maximize seed viablilty, there is still a maximum life span to the seed. That life span is nowhere near 2700 years, shit it's not even close to half that! The genetic data carried within the seed deteriorates to the point of inviablility.
