400w hps cool hood
2.5x2.5x5.25 tent
6 in 440 cfm inline exhaust fan
and this is in a closet roughly 3.5 times the size of the tent.
newly acquired 6 in 240 duct booster fan

currently have the 440 cfm inline fan connected pulling air out my tent and light.
set is
carbon filter >duct> cool hood >duct>inline fan >duct exhaust

(the inline fan is currently on the outside of the tent sitting on top)

tent still getting too hot for my liking
house temp 75 , tent temp 77-90

& i currently have all 3 of the vents at the bottom open for passive intake.

wondering
should i use this 6 in booster fan to bring air into the tent at the bottom with some duct ?
( how do i do this ?)
or
should i use the booster fan to cool the light by itself?
( how to go about this )

thanks

You shouldn't need the intake and that 6inch should be plenty for that light and size tent. I have a 6 inch cooling a 1000w bare light in a 4x4.

I would recommend going filter / fan / cooltube and then out the tent, but that might be tight in that space.

Have you got a fan blowing across the tops of your plants circulating air.

yea i have one fan blowing right under the light.
and yea the exhaust fan inside the tent will be too tight. (damn carbon filter so big lol)

you dnt think if i exhaust the light by itself with the booster fan ( ducting from one side to other with the booster fan attached to the hood.)
and keep the exhaust fan exhausting the air from just the tent. would that lower tent temp?

Yip that will def help. I do that in my veg tent. Sorry should have mentioned to do that. But I'm a bit blazed lol

I run a 4 inch fan / filter and a 6 inch just cooling the light.

bump for anyone else's advice.

should i use the booster fan dedicated to exhausting the light.
or
should i use the booster fan to pull in air from the bottom ?
