2 Part Question: 1000 watt HPS

Howdy all,

Part 1: I need to upgrade from a 400 to 1000 watt HPS. It's clear to me that I need a glass enclosed reflector that is air cooled. So I need some recommendations on either what full system to buy or what reflector to get with what light and ballast and from where should I order it?

Part 2: Currently I am running a 465CFM exhaust fan with ducting in my 4x4x7 box. It currently only exhausts the room

Assuming I installed a 1000HPS, should I split the ducting on the 465CFM to cool the light and exhaust the room or run a separate fan for the light?

you are safe running the lights LINEAR... having the 400 then the 1000 then the INLINE fan...

I would not "split" the ducting.. this will dramatically reduce your PULL/PUSH... try to run the DUCTING straight SHOT..

for a 1000watt HPS cool tube system, you don't want to share air. bring in cold air from outside the box, through the tube, and back outside the box.

i would still have good exhaust intake for the room as well.

Garden Knowm , you have clearly shown me that my question wasn't stated properly. By upgrade I meant I was replacing the 400 watt not adding to it. By splitting the ducting I was referring to cooling the 1000 watt and exhausting the room. Right now my fan just exhausts the room.
