2 Plants same Pot Divided? quick question

I have one of those big plastic storage containers, sliced a bunch of holes in the bottom for drainage and put the lid underneath to use it as a drip tray. Filled it up with dirt and used one of those cloth reusable grocery bags to act as a divider for two plants in this one container. Would this be ok? Thanks in advance.

the roots will most likely grow through the fabric maybe try a piece of hard plastic instead and cut it out with heavy duty scissors or an exacto/razor knife? it may be a good idea to put some holes on the outside of the tote and use that fabric to stop the dirt from falling out of the hole, it will act as a root pruner (which is good)\

also be careful of how strong the tote is if your putting holes in the sides because it may weaken the structure, maybe add a brace in the middle where you divide it so the bucket doesn't bow out?

The bag is pretty thick and its double layered so I don't think the roots will go through.

Yeah I could line more of it like hat but would two plants sharing one container be ok if the roots are divided?

I hope so, I just started 2 plants in an 18 gallon storage bin bubbler. Ill be pauing attention to see what people say as well.
What happens if the roots grow together? Why is it bad?

Yeah it's okay if they are divided.. It's okay if they are not divided too as long as one isn't a male and you don't have to pull one you will be fine.. It's ideal to use separate containers so that you can treat each one if there are issue you may be fucking yourself because adding nuets to fix one may set the other off in a bad direction.

i would use a hard divider.. Can't find wood?

Yeah I can probably cut a piece of plywood I have in my garage. The plants are only a few days apart in age with similar qualities. I don't really have anything to use that is deeper then this container. at just 4 weeks the roots took up the whole air pot they were placed in.

Thats why I used the cloth, its like the same material as those cloth pots people use for outdoor plants I figured it would be alright.

Why just not use the top of the containers.. It will fit.

edit: or that works too haha you can get air in the soil while you're at it too right on
