2 week old Seedling, PH runoff 5.0 in soil.........

I thought distilled water has a neutral ph of 7.0. It seems I am wrong. Distilled Poland Spring has a ph of 5.0. I just adjusted my ph to around 6.8-7.0 using the tiniest amount of baking soda added to a 1 gallon jug. I flushed the plant in its small dixie cup with a lot of water but the runoff is still coming out 5.0. Do I sit and wait for a couple days, water then retest the runoff? Im using FoxFarms OF. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Transplanting into 3 gallon bucket tomorrow

you need to caliberate your meter.

otherwise your soil is bad and your water aren't distilled.

I use drops, and I buy poland springs distilled. The website has a pdf file with info on their water and it states ph of 5.0 for distilled. I also have tested the water with drops multiple times and get the same reading........5.0. Go figure. When I get home ill fill up a cup with soil, water it, then see what the ph runoff of that is to see if my dirt is bad.

buying water to water plants ? that's crazy man. Collect rainwater or get a reverse osmosis filter, even tap water is OK if it's aged a day or so to let the chlorine gas off. Destilled water has a 7.0 ph as does rainwater in an unpolluted enironment.

Everyone seems so Positive that all distilled water has the same ph. do a simple google search and you will see that is far from true.

Lol then poland springs ditilled is a load of crap out my ass. I can't use my drinking water because it contains high lead lvls.

I can use tap water let it sit for a day use some ph down and I'm good? Doesn't tap water contain lots of impurities? Would it be fine if I. Boiled the water?

AFAIK, the definition of ph 7 is that of H20. Maybe you need distilled/deionized water to be sure of neutral ph.

i re potted into 3 gallon pot mixed with lime, hopefully no more ph issues. I'll take pics and post them b4 the week is over.
