Hey everyone, I recently struggled to find a way to hang my second 130w CFL with a smaller sized reflector, inside the tent. The main lights ref was so big and would not enable me to hang the second light comfortably.
Some people said just hang it over the top over lapping or even cut the reflector. Not keen on those ideas.
So I came up with an ingenious way to get a second 130w inside the tent and providing much needed extra light to the plant.
Instructions on how to do it
1. Firstly I removed the reflector from the second lamp. Don't discard it you can use it as a stand alone reflector. Keep your nuts and bolts together - don't lose them.
2. Then you will be left with the lamp and its frame. Slide the lamp frame Onto the main lamp and using a marker/texta, fill in the holes where you want your lamp to go. Be sure to leave at least a small gap between lamps so bulbs don't interfere with each other.
3.using a drill or hammer and punch, punch out the 4 holes you marked.
4. Put your bolts and screws back in and tighten up.
5. Using some strong string/line/chain ect, slide the string under the lamp inbetween the reflector and lamp frame #2.
6. Wrap the string up the top around your poles and tighten much as needed. You may have to adjust a few times Untill both your lamps are fairly even. The reflector from lamp #1 will be a little of centre now but its worth the extra light.
7. With the spare reflector you can just sit it appropriately wherever you want.
Here are some shitty pics of mine.
If this helps you then please post back.
