2 x 6 grow room. Help needed on which lgihts

Ive began a grow room in my closet,- like the title says its 2 feet wide and 6 feet in length. I'm tryin to fit 6 plants in here if possible? If i started the plants out from seed using two 400 MH lights would that be to much light? Ive been told to use smaller cfl lights although i'd like to just stick with those two 400 watters due to the fact that i have them laying around the house. Whats the best lights i could use for this room conidering that its only 2X6. Helps appreciated- Thanks.

The two 400 watters would work well as long as you can keep the temps in check. How are you planning on cooling the lights?

It all comes down to what is safe in such a room, two 400w MH may get too hot in there, you will have to make that final call. Are these lights UL listed and safe? One would probably cover that area and 6 plants, but if you feel you can safely put 2 in than go for it. Also you have to keep it cool enough for those plants.

A t-12 set up is cheap and works.

I have this set up I use from time to time.



They can grow into it for a few hours to a day they stay cool.

My set up is (4) 24" T-12's 20 watts each at 6500k it's a light blanket.

I also have some 2600ish k's (don't use but may add to my hps room for some side lights).
These thing may be old school but you can not f--- it up.

Yes your right, thanks for reminding me about the saftey of my house burning down. I'm not sure if these are listed save, and im not about to find out. At the local hydroponics store they probably would sell bulbs that have cooling processes on them already installed? I do agree thats 400watts might cover the whole rooms althought, do you think with one extra light the plants would have more vigerous growth? The room that this closet is in usually stays around 60-65 degrees. It'd probably help if i blew air from the room into the closet directed toward the plants to help keep the room cool rather then blowing the hot air out correct? nice setup randy rocket. I keep hearing about t-12 setup although what bulbs doesw this consist of. Those younger ones you have look excellent for being smallekr bulbs.
