Only and idiot would pay 50 bucks just for a reflector hood and light socket. Build that for ten bucks. To the OP. How many lumens are the Cfl? Thats what matters. Most cfls will put 60-70 lumens per watt. So yours would probably be about 3000 to 3500 lumens per light. So to answer your question, Yes and no. For seedling, its more than enough. For veg, add several more side lights, CFLs will work. For Flowering, get lights that are 3000k or lower. The lower the spectrum the better when flowerring. You want as much light as you can feed the plants without burning them. So this is a loaded question. Only you will know what your plants need. But as a general rule of thumb, keep the lumens above 3000 at minimum during Veg, and at least 5000 lumens per plant when flowering. These are minimums and will be debated by anyone who does something else. I just suggest you never take one single persons advice.

He stated CFL. So its measured in CFL Lang :D ..

And i wouldnt Stick To To one per plant, Though It depends on how much Usable light the bulbs output.. So Lets say you have a total output of 90w , and possibly 5-6k Lumen output (Guessing lux amount)

I have personaly Grown Plants with around 1-2k lumens, Though Dont expect anything bar a complet waste of time and money. Personaly And this is not Including LEDS (Differnt output) but i stick to around 5k lumens Per Plant When using cfls. Though i currently Run 10k per plant , With a mic of cool white and warm white.

Op have a nose around the cfl part of the forum for some info in there it is backed out with info to do with growing with cfls and some of the plants people grow with them are awesome (https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-fluorescent-lighting/)

and where can i buy high wattage cfls for cheap??
You dont want high wattage CFLs IMO...

Get multiple 23 watt 5000k+ bulbs and 1/3 of those get 26 watt 2100-2700k bulbs.
Power strips
e26 socket adapters (1.50 apiece)
Y splitters

200+ CFL watts for under 30$... I say 30$ bc the power strips are expensive, if you dont already have any....

with multiple lights, you can move them around and get lots of side lighting...

Distributed lighting = dense fat buds. :D

THis is just my opinion though :D

Yea. As long as w/e socket ur pluging it into can hold that much watts.

If plugging into a power strip, yea. If its a small desk lamp, make sure it has the ability to power 120 watts.

be carefull adding to many bulbs to a singel light fixture.

You Should Take note of the MAX Draw from startup..

Also Make sure u dont have to many amps running on the same power-point.

Just because your room has 6 plugs doesnt mean they are Singel outlets, they are more likely all linked, so Make Sure u know the total draw off your setup and the max power your outputs can handel.

Last thing u need is a fire or short circuit and have the cops looking ;)
