oh and in my veg closet i have like a shelf directly above my lights and i just put it there. with the side that has the seeds down. also i experiemnted and sprayed the whole inside of case like 2 times for added moisture.

Get a jar about 500 ml and some distilled water. Fill jar with the distilled water and add a drop of Superthrive and a few drops of rooting hormone. Shake jar vigorously for 5 mins to mix and aerate solution. Insert your seeds, all will float for the first 1-3 hours and then they will start to sink. If some seeds keep floating shake jar slightly to cause them to sink and keep the jar in a warm a place 78f-86F. Check seeds every 3-6 hours. When the seeds crack open and small taproot is visible plant the cracked seeds in preferred moisten medium 1/8"-1/4" deep. Place the containers with the seeds into a plastic bag to keep the humidity levels up keep in a warm area 78 f - 86 F. When sprouts break surface of soil remove from bag place under main growing light.

With Mogie's method your seeds should sprout.
It may take longer than younger seeds but they will germinate and grow.
I know they we will.

Especially since you went thru and made a hypothesis on which were more viable first.

I would say good luck but, in this case i think it is more patience than anything.

wait. rooting hormone? i have root tech cloning gel and some kick start 1-1-1. one of these? i do have the superthrive and the distilled water.

hey FDD have you tried scuffing (known as scarifying) any of the seeds, break off a piece of emory board just long enough to fit into a small match box, put the seeds in the box and shake it back and forth vigorously, also you could just rub them lightly back and forth on some sand paper, this helps break down the outer shell( the TESTA baby) and makes it easier for moisture to get inside to the embryo, helps to germinate old seeds or seeds with tuff testas.

You should try it......scarify some....

hey fdd, that is hilarious that you found those seeds dude, if you get buddage, maybe they'll be able to take you back to the late 70's, early 80's when you first met your wife perhaps?... and the only war we were in was the Cold one...good luck with the seeds man. Very cool avitar by the way.

if you know where the seed normally cracks, then you could soak them (which you already have) and then slice them with a sharp scalpel. that way you have done all the hard work for the old ladies. do you or your mrs not knoe what strain they are? some autoflowering types (lowryder) have to germ in a very warm environment, and ive heard of people using this method with strains like these.

I got an egg tooth!!!!!!!!!!

one of the seeds i put in on the second batch. i took a black film can, dipped my finger in superthrive then wiped it inside the film can, then filled with water and added 10 seeds. 1 has a taproot poking out today. very small but it is growing. i have moved it to a bed of moist paper towels. :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

cool that one started fdd:) if you still on trying methods, try mine too;)
soak a jiffy tab, either treat the seed or the jiffy with some cloning hormone, both together works as well but can lead to gel forming which will block water out. now that on some surface or better in a propagation dome at 75° to 85° and my fresh seeds spruce all within 48h normally. guess with our old ones it may take 2 or 3 days more;)

i just checked my seed that popped. it changed. ???????? now it has no root. maybe i grabbed the wrong one because i found another that was cracked.

LMAO I have done that before. Well atleast you have got one to sprout. Hope there will be more in the future to ensure a female. If not then you could always use that male to pollinate. Good luck too ya!!!

i hear if you place seeds under your tounge for 3 hours and wink 5 times, click your heals together and say " Grow you little fuckers" even 45 year old seeds will sprout
