Going into Dec. I have a serious hobby. I fucking love to grow:leaf:! My only wish was I had enough money to do this the right way but I don't.

Soooooo.....Here is what I have. I put my plants in an old plastic storage (U know the one you put your socks and draws in when you don't have a nite stand.) and took the drawers out. I bought a $10 florecent Light from Wal-Mart and some 99cent foil and lined the inside of it. I mounted the light to the top of the storage unit and used canned food and misc. boxes I had laying around the house to prop my plants up to be closer to the light. I planted the :leaf: in some MG (I know, I know, but that shit is cheap) So here's my set up so far and what my plants look like. 2 of my seeds still have to pop out. Any advice is welcome!

Those look surprisingly good for a cheap flouro. What kind of flouro is it exactly? I'd get some different soil as you'll inevitably run into problems with the MG soil.

I don't even know what type of Fluoro it is. But when do you think i should transplant these babies? When I get more $$$ I will get some better lights.

Seems good so far.... I am running a pretty ghetto grow myself. You'll probably end up buying alot more lights and stuff as time goes on. Every few days or so, Id think of something else I needed (lights, hygrometer, etc) so it was a few $$$ here and there. I started with the 4 foot shoplights and now Ive got cfl's growing out of my ears. :)
Nice lookin lil buggers. :)

I've been more of a hydro guy as of late, but from my soil trial and errors, I'd get them in some better soil asap. I've heard Fox Farms or Black Gold is good. I'd also get some CFL's like Rocketgirl mentioned. She's also right about other items you'll need. Ph meter, thermometer/hygrometer, fans, ducting, etc. etc. etc. But I've found going shopping is part of the fun!!

These are awesome and cheap on Ebay. They tell you the max/min temp and max/min humidity. http://www.extras4eu.com/europe/Thermometer_Hygrometer/Thermometer_Hygrometer_1.jpg

It's been about a week and half since the last pics. I am happy with the growth. I got a whole bunch of new stuff since the last time. I improved on my ghetto grow box. I also got better lights. So here's the new set up.

Lights:
3 CFL's - 2050 Lumens /30 Watts
2 tube Flouro's 75 watt's

I also put a fan next to the grow box. temp and air is always a good humidity because the box is in the laundry room.

Comments are welcome. let me know what I can do better and what I am doing well. Remember this is my first grow.

Here are some pics of my babies. This one is about 4 weeks. I was loaded and had clip some branches from the bottom. (long story it happened during transplant.) There are some leaves growing where the branch branches off the stem. ( I hope that made sence.)

You had said that you had some damage during transplant right? Thats probably why they're growing weird. Dont worry, I had that happen also.

you should get some y splitters on the sockets so you have twice as much light...just a thought.....

the more light the better...

Ithink you gotta cool ghetto/budget grow going on......one splitter here, one there, and the next thing you know, youre building a bigger closet.....the "hobby" part of this rears it's head fast!
I noticed the blanket on top??? use something reflective.....like a white towel, for your "door".....:peace: and good luck! So far so good!

Well it's been 8 days since the last pic's and my girls-(hopefully), are getting bigger by the day. I planted 4 total. 3 are doing well and one of them I just can't figure out what is wrong. I got a couple y splitters so that I can have more light and they love it so far they love them. I am trying to get a hps/mh combo ballast but them bitches are expensive. I still am not feeding them. they are living off of the nutes from the mg soil. Bertha (the biggest/oldest plant) was just put in 12/12 cycle yesterday. When should I give it flowering nutes. any sugestions on nute type, how to use it and where I can get it. All the advise I have gotten so far has been great. Please keep the comment's comming.

NICE JOB . those plants look amazing for what you have put into the grow.

to really get a good yield you are going to want to get better lighting. 400w-1000w switchables are in the $230-400 range. thats a reasonable cost considering everything is included.

im really suprised you have not added any grow nutes

Thanks Storz. I am glad you think they look good. I have put a lot of TLC in them.

I haven't put any nutes in them yet becuase everytime I put a little bit just to test it starts to burn them. so I just figured...(plus the great advice of people in here) that the soil had enough nutes in it. but now bertha is in the flower phase and I am going to start testing bloom nutes on her...and advice on what nutes would be best.

hey good job man, i got a very similar set-up except no plants. :( I went to jail for something stupid and my plants died.

*Jail story, a guy tried to steal my wallet so I beat him up. Went to jail for two weeks. Assault IV.
