I planted the little popped seeds in those red party cups with my soil posted above, I watered them with bottled water because I don't know the ph of my water and I have yet to buy a ph kit to test it. I'll get some pics up of them as soon as they poke through the soil. I'm gonna go pick up some of that root stimulant mentioned above, where would I be able to buy it? Also I'm going to start my SLH, Red Dragon, and Dolce Vita soon.

So far 3 of the autos in little red cups have sprouted, I didn't water them yesterday morning and when I checked them at like 5PM that day (it was hot) they were bone dry. I watered them immediately after I found them but I'm afraid the damage may have already been done, I really hope I didn't kill them. The 3 that have sprouted are very small, maybe I'm just really impatient and think they should have sprouted by now. It's only been 4 days since I put all the cracked seeds in soil and they've been outside getting the cali sun. Any comments on this situation would be very appreciated!

On the other hand, I started germing my SLH, Red Dragon, and Dolce Vita last night so I'm hoping they they pop open soon... I'll update when they do with pics.

I'm starting to get really worried about the autos. It may be that I'm just a noob and seeds take forever to sprout... but I think I may have screwed them up somehow. 8/8 seeds germinated, however after being planted in soiil for nearly a week, only 3 have sprouted from the soil. How long should I wait before declaring them dead? If they are I'm going to grow photo period plants in their places and maybe try to force flower after they're around 2-3 feet. I know I don't have any pics of the autos which I apologize for, I will try to get some soon.

As for the SLH, Red Dragon and Dolce Vita: all 3 seeds popped and I planted them in little pots as shown in the first picture. The top plants are jalepeno and bellpeppers, while the red pot is Dolce Vita, Black is SLH, and the mesh pot thing is Red Dragon. They are sitting inside my house right now in my bay window which is the second picture. We're having pretty bad weather for these next few days as you can see. Hoping they'll all sprout soon so I can put them outside this next week with this great sunny weather. Comments about everything would be greatly appreciated (mainly the possible seed failures of autos)! +rep to anyone who has some input

You spent $180 on good genetics but are you planning on cloneing to hold through till next year ? or are you going to breed with bag seed whats the plan to continue the genetics ? Just curious

Honestly, I didn't really put too much thought into it. I figure once I get a little more down the road I'll decide. I've read a few different things about making a plant produce seeds of itself without having to breed, seeing as how I don't have any bag seed nor do I have any males. Actually I guess I could I'm not really that far into it to know what's going to happen. I've read that spraying branches of a plant with collodial silver (spelling error?) will cause that branch to actually change sex and pollinate itself. Another thing I've read is that you can leave a plant out after harvest and before it dies it will hermie or do something weird and pollinate itself in a natural attempt to keep the plant from extinction. Perhaps I'll clone a few plants and try these techniques. I don't really know what I'm gonna do yet, it's my first grow and I don't wanna do anything retarded and screw up my grow lol. If worst comes to worst I have more seeds (the others mentioned in initial post), or I could just buy more seeds. I really wanna try out TGA anyway, get my parents started with a strain and seeds they can use for the next 10 years.

To be honest in your case what i would do is set your grow up as planned and then take a cutting from your favorite or all of the plants put them in a small grow box and hold onto the mothers you can Bonzai a clone if you have limited space and still receive decent cuttings if preformed properly then next year you can literally plant hundreds of those strains , but you need to know a little about cloneing and invest some money on a nice suitable Mother Plant room in order to obtain this correctly.

Another option is to cross breed with a male to try and get some seeds with certain traits from the female , but then your options again are limited UNLESS because its early enough you buy a male seed and experiment with breeding and thats a whole new ball game but if done properly can turn great rewards down the road when you grow the offspring seeds the following season . Welcome to Botany at its finest ;)

Yea, I'll consider all of those options. I'll think about it more as the time gets closer, though. Does anyone know if my seeds are taking longer than normal to sprout? Or am I just freaking out over nothing... they're keeping me worried

YES! The Red Dragon has a tiny sprout! I'm a bit more confident in the other two now. However, I'm nearly convinced that more than half the autos died. I wish I would have taken a picture of when I transplanted the seeds... I waited way too long. A few of them had tiny little leaves forming that I put really close the the surface (I'm pretty sure those are the ones that sprouted already). Only 3 of the total 8 have come up so far. Anyone know if this is normal? I said what day I transplanted on page 2 I think, but it was about 6 days ago I think? If anyone could give advice on whether they think they're dead or not would be awesome, if they are I'm going to start the others.

The Dolce Vita popped up aswell! I'm so excited to get growing and see them do their thing. Here are pics of the two sprouts. The Red Dragon went from being a tiny leaf poking above the surface of the soil to an inch tall sprout this morning. They grow quickly! Anyways, here are the two pictures. The brown, mesh pot is of the RD, it's kind of hard to see, but you can kind of make it out... I used my phone which isn't the best quality. The other orange bucket is the DV, it's just barely poking above the surface. WP_000095.jpgPhoto_04E97F49-7183-FFDD-C5D0-CE3C812C727C.jpg

Today I checked on the autos and only 3 had sprouted still and they all looked dead... I'm still gonna keep them outside and tended to but I've basically given up on them. Its kind of disappointing spending over 100 bucks and screwing it all up, but I guess that is the risk I was taking. In replacement I have started the other 4 seeds: purple haze, Cali hash plant, giga bud, and super skunk. The purps and hash plant aren't fem so I may make seeds with a male and a clone of red dragon (appealing because of early outdoor finish).

In other news, all 3 of the other seeds are up and healthy looking, pics followed.
