2013 outdoor - central cali

yes brother those are root knots for nemetoads-the bad kind. i use scanmask twice a year and on my compost piles. sometimes on the dog for fleas:) way to get em in looking nice.

I had one in a pot do this I'll just throw that soil away. Will scan mask kill beneficial n nematodes? I seed my garden with then every year.

The plant that was affected was smaller though the flowers were larger than her sisters.

So much for that lowering yields. Ha! How does that occur? Too many nematodes in the primordial soup?

scanmask is a brand name of beneficial nemetoades that i trust .

i got a fusiform gall on one plant this year ill try to find a pic . man it was cool looking but DID hurt yeild. root knots dont always hurt yeild as most use liquid feed in abundance and rich soil.

Next year I'm doing 9/10 plants in 4x4 planer boxes, the last pic is my layout and I built the first box yesterday. I'm gonna grow garlic around the edges to keep mites away and garlic needs to be planted before the first Frost.

Looks awesome Woot. How did you get your yard clear of all the grass and weeds?

what do you mean about the garlic has to be planted before the first Friday?

I rototilled , pulled up as much grass rhizome as I could. I've done this for a few years. Now I just round up anything as soon as it pops up and now I have virtually no weeds in my garden.

I meant first frost not Friday lol

Ic Ic lol...I would love my whole back yard to be like that. A total clean slate. Also, is that lettuce in the second to last pic?

Napa cabbage, that's also brussel sprouts, broccoli, snap peas and, cauliflower.

Agent orange turned out nice.

Hot Damn! That is a beautiful nug you have there Woot :weed:

I also have sugar snaps and garlic. Slugs have eaten most of my brussels sprouts and broccoli and cauliflower :(

I've noticed slugs don't like traveling over dry earth so the clear ground.keeps everything safe unless I've watered recently. I also bought a big thing of sluggo at the beginning of the year and break it out for young plants. A half inch of beer in a pie tin will attract and kill the shit out of them as well.

Wow awesome, I had no idea you could plant garlic around to keep mites away. Pro tip which I will remember if I ever get the opportunity to grow OD :D

I haven't watered it in like 2 weeks it's turning brown.it's got a few ounces in it, I think I'll cut it down and strip it for hash.
