Started a little late this year but the past 10 days have been super hot and the ladies loved it. Some pretty heavy rains last night.
Trying some smaller pots this year, hoping I’ll be able to move them to cover later in the season. Also trying an organic mix for the first time so I kind of wanted to try with a smaller amount, cooked for 2 months in my garage in 30 gal pots then filled 15 gal.
IMG_2560.jpegIMG_2566.jpegIMG_2563.jpeg Had a somewhat hallowed out log, wide at the top but narrow at the bottom with a quarter size hole out the bottom. I just filled with soil and buried the log halfway, figured for fun I’d stick an auto in and see what happens. Don’t expect much, didn’t actually think it would make it this far but I think it’s currently my favorite haha.

Frisian Dew and a couple of Frisian Ducks, and a Sweet tooth Auto.

I'm afraid they will become way too tall and will be visible from the street. Open to suggestions! (I've already topped all of them a couple of times to even out the canopy)

I can always just move them to the back of the property, so that's my backup plan.

Never heard of Early Bird before. What is the origin of yours? Early is always good outdoors!
Vashon seeds a buddy of mine ran some last yr most were done mid late sept here in maine thats a month sooner than i have been harvesting the last few yrs. I cant run into oct here any more to much moisture in the air big time rot sets in every yr. I had a problem with the seeds I got from JBC so I reached out to the breeder an they were more than helpful replacing what I paid for plus some. I can tell these will not get huge but why grow a 3lb plant to have it melt down 3 weeks before its done.

Or why grow a big plant to watch it slowly die of septoria! I once grew a plant that finished right as the septoria was beginning to overtake it. Still got an acceptable harvest. Vashon Early Bird might even finish in August here.

I'm pretty sure this will be my last year outdoors. I'm tired of fighting the fight all the time. It's June and I've axed 3 plants cause they were covered in WPM already.
I also went back to running some autos outside and they don't look like they're gonna finish any sooner than the photos as they havent even began to flower yet. So it's gonna be a lot of in and out of the shed everyday.
Too much like work and I don't even enjoy outdoor bud lol.

Damn thats harsh yeah its hit or miss outdoors sometimes nature just don't wanna play ball it is heartbreaking seeing a whole plot ruined after all that hard work n time/effort

Had to transplant out of that little container. With the sun beating on it she was drying too fast. Into a 3 gallon now. A bit late but ive found they do root well right at the start of flower.

Purple lemonade smells incredible! Is it just me or do plants smell better outside? Wonderful lemon and subtle skunk notes on her!
