quad band means it has red, blue, orange and white to cover all the spectrum, and so it stretch less. Early red/blue causes plant to stretch a bit. If you can get grow panel cheap then they are "ok" for side lighting. I measured my UFO is really only using 65w ish from my power meter, even though the LED is 1w SMD.

My Chrystals are in a kinda drip system and the 2 PPP is on aero-bubbler (spray on root with nuts on the bottom with airstone). Its is kinda test bed for which system I am gona use, DIY drip is more moduler where you can move the pots about easy enough, while changing nutes in the aero box (or bubbler) is a bit of a pain, root can get really long and entangle with roots on the other plants. The PPP in the Aeroponic box grows really fast, it is wild! It really is like space age plant growing with LED and aero, lol

I paid 133 for both of mine, w/shipping. My guess is, if you had the diods, and a little enginuity, you could make your own fairly inexpensively.

Right on bro. Love the quote as well. I think I am going to do a side by side compare with LEDS and HPS next. Cloning the shit out of em now. My theory could go either way, but it is HPS puts off so much heat, and LEDs dont. I had to time in some shitty MH bulbs just to heat everything up. Now, on an outdoor grow, it is said to harvest in the heat of the day, because the plant will be "sweating." I am going to try a little experiment on one of the plants to put the heater (Raise the temp from 75 to a on it for a few hours, then harvest it to see if it will sweat bout 90) for just about 2 or 3 hours, then chop. Anyone know if this could work, or has it been done before??? If not, lets name it the "Frank Cure" method.

The lights were 133 with shipping. Company from CALI. 14w, but they claim to give as much lumens as 75w HPS. I have no idea about that truth?

I have ran across the specifics, but honestly I was too stoned to remember to bookmark it. The lumen ratings for blue and red spectrum on LEDs was about the same, iif not more than HPS. I really researched the shit out of it. I was going to go with these, or 100W HPS. Same price pretty much, but I never could get a strait answer from anyone who recently tried it. The main benifit is the heat. There is none.

Here is a link on youtube comparing a few 90w UFO with a 400w HPS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fh9oGroryoc . I hope you will find it useful. I too done a lot of read up on LED :D. The UFO I have said its 3800 lumen but I have no means of measuring it at the moment. The key factor of LED is producing lights that the plant needs the most while HID produce much of the lights that is not used by the plant and have significant amount of heat as side effect. It is how much PAR (Photosynthetically active radiation) it produce than lumen thats important.

no heat probs with my 1000 watt everyone keeps talkin about heat issues i wish i had that problem could use the heat instead of having to supply it 8 inch centrifigul fan on top of a charcoal filter ducted to the light to cool the bulb keeps the smell almost non existent too can touch the glass on the light cover at all times
