I'm doing an indoor soil grow in a 4x4x6.5 with 220W of LED and 100W of CFL.
 
Well first up forget the soil.
Bugs, microbes - some maybe beneficial but most not & such a slow way to grow.
Hydro is the way to go. Needs less attention, lots less to go wrong, better healthier growth.
RE: LED lighting. After 20 yes I've tried most types of lighting, last bought Lead's 12mths ago, used once and now stored with all other failed experiments, and I'm an HPS man.
 
I FEEEL like if I go 18/6 the last week of Veg my plants will show "pre-flowers" or "hairs" or "show their sex" by the end of that week. Then when I go to 12/12 I FEEEL like the plants transition to flower, or start budding faster than if I use 24/0 during veg. Like I'll have pistils on day 9 of flower, instead of day 14.

Do you bros notice anything like this, or believe this could be possible? I've never tried to research it or do a side by side or anything.

You should try 16-8.
