my plants r about 6 weeks old ive been veging them under floros 24 hours a day if i switch to 18 on 6 off will it be bad for them?

when one grows plants indoors, it is best to try to recreate the conditions that the plant has evolved to thrive in.

switching to 18 hours light from 24 should not cause any harm or slow growth or anything. Why switch? I am of the "24 is better" camp.........

6 weeks vegging should be pretty good for an indoor grow. How tall are they now? You may want to flower soon....

i didn't say that anything negative would happen staying on 24/7. you just don't take into account the fact that people smoke cannabis for the THC. bigger plants is not better meds. you aren't considering the genetic predisposition. evolution? why grow organic? how about the quality of light? got a UVB? sativas veg under 13 hours of light per day. 11 hours a day could save you some money on the electric bill. quality without compromise.

I recall reading a post here on the forum regarding 24/7 light and how it can sway some plants to go male...while the 18/6 tends to produce more females...it was by a very reputable guy..i will post the link if i find it again. For those that are on the 24/7 camp please don't harass me...lol...just stating what I read

Ive read that article on Males. I perfer to run at 18/6, to save $$$ and that article. I also like the idea of the plants "sleeping". seems more natural. I run my clones at 24, vegg for 2 weeks under 18, then 12/12 to flower.

hi im growing sativa 24x7 from seeds with a 250 watt lum, its my 2nd time doing this, im doing it because it increases growth 20 to 30% , im using aeroponics, i will slowly change after a few weeks gettin closer to flowering,lights, feeds etc, i think if plants are stressed they will turn to males.
