250-500w cfl cupboard grow - 5 fem strains (indica dominant!?)

At the moment i've got all these fem seeds in jiffy pellets in a propagator (they have opened up in wet paper towels already):

1x Nirvana white rhino
1x Nirvana AK48
1x DNA LA confidential
1x Reserva Privada Sour Kush (AKA headband)
1x Reserva Privada Purple wreck

The sour kush was meant to be a DNA rocklock, but it was a deformed seed and never opened up so i germed the SK last night to take its place

All these seeds were ordered from herbies and the sour kush (and rocklock) and purple wreck were freebies i got earlier in the year

Pots: 2gal smart pots

soil: biobizz LIGHTmix and extra perlite, and some garden lime (for calmag and pH buffer) and soil bacteria from humbolt nutrients

Nutes: Humbolt nutrients organinc 'grow natural' and 'bloom' plus some dutch pro 'autoflower A+B nutes' (i used these for my autos but im gonna use some to supplement these regs) and some PK13/14 to be used at 1ml/ gal during the middle of flowering. Also some honey ES molasses from humboldt to feed to soil bacteria. Also some humboldt 'structural integrity' pure silicate for pH up. Citric acid for pH down.

water: gonna use mineral water for the first couple weeks till i get my water filter.

lights: 2x 125w blue spectrum cfl's for veg and 2x 250w red cfl's for flower

ventilation: got a 4" rhino carbon filter and 180m3/h inline fan. got a 6" desk fan for internal circulation

aaaaaand i think thats all the essentials covered........just gonna b a tense time waiting for them to surface! I reckon they will be up by tomorrow afternoon

Growing technique:

well.....if anyone saw my last grow they will know this is likely to change lol

but im aiming to veg them to about 6", top them all at the 2nd or 3rd node and then switch to 12/12 whilst training them with bamboo canes and garden wire. My grow room is about 90x50 cm so its gonna be tight, my goal is to spread teh tops in this space and im aiming for about 6Oz. Id be really happy with that much in this space. I got just over 5Oz last time so its my mission to improve that. This will be my third indoor grow and hopefuly my second successful grow lol ive done some outdoor grows but they were a disaster with pests and thieves etc.

- i did the moist paper towels method in a clipfast box wrapped in foil and placed under a warm lamp.

Day 1

- opened the packets up on thursday night and now they have opened u with their cotyledons so not doing too bad so far

Hey just curious, why u topping w limited room? I was under the impression that 12/12 is best w one main cola, especially w limited room, and topping is a method preferred for a normal grow... month or so veg Then flower,

I'm still a newbie, first grow got some vanilla kushes goin, looking to learn

its just an experiment really, i have no idea what to expect. But im topping at the first or second node just so i got more tops, basically and i can train them to bamboo canes so i should be able to fill the space....who knows lol not me. And im flippin to 12/12 as soon as i top, which im guessing will be similar to 12/12 from seed, because the plant will spend a few days recovering (like the sprout establishing itself from seed) and the roots should already be more developed than a 12/12 from seed, meaning better growth and a fast response to to the light change. One main cola is just what happens with 12/12 FS generally, its not really a choice its just how the plant grows, so its not better or worse that i know of. But yeah, this all works in my head, its just a case of doing it and seeing how it goes

the purple wreck is a bit stunted think im gonna start germing a DNA lemon skunk to take its place :/ ill give it another day. Thats the other thing about topping, coz they are different strains, im gonna top them all at the same time, so it should kinda balance out their levels of development, at least for a week lol

Critical care unit

HAHA i found the rocklock i left in moist paper towels. I had kinda forgot about it but came across the box a couple hours ago and opened the tissue up and the root was about an inch long, but i had to prize the shell open with my nail and a laptop screwdriver. Needless to say, I doubt she is gonna make it...but for what its worth ive slammed her in a small propogator tub and propped her up with a bit of garden wire. If she does make it, i wont be topping her, ill just leave her to go 12/12 as she is gonna be at LEAST a few days behind the others
this is the purple wreck, shes a bit stunted but i think she will be ok. Just late. So when she gets to the first node ill top all the others at the 1st node too, then they will sort of be the same size. Then it will be 12/12 from then on.

sounds good. I'm doing a 12/12 myself, 3 purp kush, and 6 random ass bag seeds from a qsack I got that was excellent. I wanted to try topping but im maaad limited on room. im trying to grow em as small as possible w one main bud.whats the width of ur grow space?

its about 90x50cm so its pretty small yeh. I got 3 haze plants in there last grow so these indicas should juuuust about fit. GL on ur grow man sounds tasty

Critical care unit day 2

Well whad'ya know....the rocklock is now supporting itself, the stem is straightening out and i can see the next set of green leaves starting to form in the cotyledons.
Purple wreck hasn't realy changed. What might happen is i could just rip out the PW in a couple days if it still hasnt grown and put the RL in its place.

Lol critical care units is how most of my bag seeds start. I started 3 purple kus from Canada weed seeds.com, and 6 bag seeds, all at the same time. The purple kush is now a lil over a ft, and the bag seeds are all 6" and below, so to grow em along side the kush, I had to prune alot of fan leaves, but its working. They are all starting to flower. This grow has shown me just how important good genetics are....so far I had to pull two hermies out at 7" high...damn bag seeds ruining my sensi...dont skimp on seeds...

Also, u have any exp w those cfls that claim to b 60 100 and 150 wat all in one? They sell em at WalMart and shit

yeah man bagseed is too much of a risk! nope i have no experience with those cfl's, sounds like they are dimmable? You might wanna check the lumens before u grab them though and whether you are able to get reflectors on them or make some for them :/

Day 3?

Rocklock bouncing back!! This was one of my more anticipated original strains for this grow. DNA seem to rate it for its couchlock so shud be good meds for vaping after a martial arts session

Purple wreck head - i was lokin forward to some purp, but seems like its gonna have to be next time. This was a freebie so maybe it was old stock. It was a pretty small seed. Ive seen some good reports on the purple wreck but ill do some shoppin around for a good fem purp strain to get on my next grow anyways :'( i wanna get a purple sativa for my nxt grow but i think the purple wreck is indica dom

Low, fruit is almost there but the amnesia, that bitch got burned so bad that even her own mother wouldn't recognize her..and plus because of that nute burn she one stunted bitch lol so I don't know. might just well give her away to a buddy of mine so I can start my photos.

is it saveable? it might be worth finisheing her off just to get an idea of the quality of genetics like the high? i hear amnesia haze is good smoke, so would be good if they had made a nice lowryder cross. GL with the fruit tho

Day 6

Purple wreck now growing....aaaah its too much. I figured it was the crapy jiffy pellts i got last year, im sure they are too compact and the root spends too much energy finding its way through. I scrunched up teh jiffy pellet (a different cheap brand) a bit and the next day the PW had grown for the first time, so by scrunching t up slightly i have obviously created a gap for the root to grow through.

pic taken yesterday. I've repotted the PW into a 2 L standard pot with John Innes #2 compost/soil, which is there in the middle. I didn't want 6 plants, but now i don't wanna give any away. Im deff not gonna kill any off thats for sure lol ah fuck. Gonna be one heck of a squeeze in there in a month .....
