i know what u mean u want advice to do a simple grow as effective as u can to get a better bud. I got leds and use them for the lower parts of the plants l also use a daylight bulb for the bottom of the plants bought some ordinary redlight bulbs. Might use these soon as its night two on 12 12

I grow with a 250 halide atm, it gets the job done.

Just run plants a little smaller than mine in the pic if you want four or more under that.

I have a 600watt HPS and a heap of 400watt Metal Halide lights. I can't afford a ballast, so can I grow without one?

The MH lights are under ten bucks and they are tubular, but the sockey costs 50 bucks, so do I need a ballast to get the light going or can I just use a heavy duty cord. Its neutral with no earth wire. PLZ Help

do you have a ballast for your 250 watter? My lights are big screw in sockets so its a bastard to get them going. Electrician wont help me, he knows what I'm doin. An e40 socket and I dont want to use a ballast PLZ Help

HPS and MH lights require a ballast period.

I hope your dad wasn't home when you called the electrician over and asked him to wire that up without a ballast.

You need help...

Do I need a ballast with HID lights? Or can I just hook it up to a two pin plug into a powerpoint?

Ok so I will have to sace up for a ballast then. Thankyou very much, and I've prob grown more than any of you doing it outdoors, this is my first time indoors, so go easy mate
